I switch on the television and start watching my favourite movie, Harry Potter. I loved it, the fact that the  theme  is based on fantasy and takes me into a whole new realm brought me nothing but peace of mind.
I wanted to get away from everything that's happening in my life. If I was given a  chance to, I wouldn't hesitate.  That's how  sad and depressing it was for me.

It's happening again. Don't they get tired? Don't they think about my wellbeing? Can't they just make peace and forget about everything? All these questions were bothering my mind.  I wish they'd just think about me for a minute because am too young to bear all this pain and witness their fight every now and then but at this point I think they would never know how i feel as they seemed to never care.

They were getting loud. Pretending to concentrate on the movie wasn't helping no more, even the fact that it was dark and stormy outside and the downpour of rain was heavy nothing compared to the fight taking place upstairs. It has been an hour and a half since they started.
i felt a great wrench of sadness,I love them both. I want them happy,I want them to realize that fighting can never be a solution.  They needed to seat down and talk like grownups and solve the problems but who am I to tell them? I mean am just fourteen and they'll never listen to me.

Momma comes downstairs, shaking out of anger. She couldn't even see me despite of me being in the same room with her. I was  sobbing..it was mentally draining.

"Momma please forgive each other,it hurts to see you and dad like this " I said

Not once in my life have I ever opened up about how I was feeling but today I felt that I can't carry this burden anymore.
She looked at me with sympathy. I knew she would understand.

She immediately went back upstairs and that gave me hope.

"Maybe they'll talk things over " I said to myself

I was tempted to go and eavesdrop but I couldn't do that. 30 minutes later they both came downstairs and the first thing they did was to hug me. I badly needed their embrace . Have never seen my dad break down...he felt as though he let me down and most importantly his roles as a father.

"We promise never to fight again" they both said with a teary eyes

Humans are flawed. So eventually they reached a compromise. I couldn't be happier.

There always has to be light somewhere. .
