-Lauren's POV-
Lauren? It's me...Matt."
I just stood there shocked.
"Hello?" he said, as he waved his hands in front of me.
"Sorry... it's just been so long."
"Yeah." He gave a nervous laugh. "Like five years, huh?"
"About ." I replied, almost smiling.
"Shouldn't you be at school right about now?"
"The question is... shouldn't YOU be at school right about now?" I smiled a little.
"Why, yes. Yes, I should."
"Well...why are you here?"
"I just needed a little break."
"From what? It's only the third day of school."
"You first. You obviously needed one too since you're here." He motioned to the bench, and we both sat.
"I asked you first." I smirked.
"Ugh. Still cheeky, I see?" He smiled. "Well, I'm just tired of the ongoing drama. Everyone irritates me. The girls especially. I just hate it. Your turn." He looked at me, giving me his full attention.
"Well...It's actually the same thing. I'm just fed up with everyone already."
"Oh."
"Yeah.."
He looked at me, and gave me that smile that I used to love. "You look great by the way. For a second, I didn't even recognize that it was you."
"Yeah right." I muttered.
"What do you mean 'yeah right'? You know everyone thinks you're gorgeous."
"No. Everyone thinks I'm a whore."
"I doubt it."
"Oh really? Because last time I checked, you didn't go to my school. You don't know what's been going on." My face was red now.
"Well then tell me. I've got time."
I hesitated, but gave in. I started from the beginning of everything. I explained to him how Tara accused me of sleeping with her boyfriend, and everything after that. He didn't speak, which was just what I needed.
"You're not a whore. I know you didn't do any of that."
"Thanks."
"Anytime."
It was quiet for a few minutes. "So where was your boyfriend during all of this?"
"Oh, doing what he does best." I knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to figure out if I had a boyfriend or not.
"And what would that be?"
"Not existing." I smirked, and he laughed. "So why hasn't your girlfriend been comforting you?"
"I don't have one." He shrugged.
"Oh. How come?"
"I'm not attractive enough." He gave a small laugh.
"Matt... we both know you're attractive."
"Oh you find me attractive?"
I gave him a look. He was grinning. We talked for a while, about various things. School, Friends, Food, etc. I didn't even notice that almost 2 hours had passed.
"So you should meet me at starbucks later?"he suggested.
"Maybe I will." I smiled.
"Around 6?"
"Yes sir."
"Great. See you then."
"Yeah, see you then." We got up, and hugged for like a minute straight, then went our separate ways, but this time, it wasn't permanent.
-Niall's POV-
When we came back from the fire drill, Lauren and her stuff was gone. Where could she be? I asked Phoebe if she knew where she was, but she said no. During my lunch period, I decided to go look for her since she wasn't texting me back. Phoebe said she'd find someone to sit with.
As I passed the park, I saw Lauren talking to this guy. They were laughing and seemed to be having a great time. This upset me a little. I parked my car next to hers, and watched them. They both got up and hugged. You'd think this hug would last like 3 seconds right? Wrong. It lasted about a minute. This angered me. I got out of my car, and waited for her by her car. When she walked over she looked astonished to see me.
