-Lauren's POV-
Harry texted me later, telling me that he made it home safely. I replied, saying goodnight.
Then I called Niall for the umpteenth time.
No answer. Typical.
I flung myself onto the bed, and almost fell asleep, until I heard a small knocking on my door.
"Come in." I said, not bothering to ask who was at the door.
My mom walked in and sat on the edge of my bed.
"Lauren, sweetie? Can I speak to you for a moment?"
Tears began to spring in my eyes, but I blinked them away. Just seeing my mom sitting on my bed here, looking as healthy as ever, and knowing that she won't be here in a couple of months upset me. Either way, I had to be strong for her.
"I know I dropped a bomb on you the other day. I'm sorry."
I was baffled. "Mom. This isn't your fault. You didn't choose this for yourself."
"I know, but—"
"But nothing, we'll get through this together mom."
She began to cry. "I don't want you to be abandoned by yet another person. First your dad, now me. I feel like a terrible mother."
I pulled my mom into a big hug. "Mom, you're more than I can ever ask for."
She hugged me back. "I love you," she whispered.
"I love you more."
We pulled away, and smiled at each other.
"Hey mom?"
"Yes?"
I gulped. "Let's enjoy the time that we have together, okay?"
She nodded. "Definitely."
-Niall's POV-
Lauren's picture appeared on my phone. I quickly hit reject, and turned off my phone.
I haven't spoken to her in four days.
Yes, I'm scared to talk to her. I screwed up, and now I regret it.
If I admit it, the best thing that's ever happened to me will just leave. If I don't tell her, and she finds out another way, then she'll leave.
It's a lose-lose situation.
I ran my hands through my hair.
"What am I going to do?" I muttered to myself.
I heard the door shut, and looked up to see Harry walking in.
He hasn't spoken to me in about 4 days, so I decided to try my luck.
"Hey man, where you been?"
He didn't reply.
"Come ON Harry. I apologized multiple times. We're in a band together for goodness sakes. You can't be angry with me forever," I pleaded.
No answer.
I followed him upstairs to his room.
"Please just give me a second chance."
He looked as if he was contemplating it.
"Please. It wasn't entirely my fault."
"I don't care! You ruined my relationship! You took away the one thing that matters the most to me! Are really so naïve to think that 'sorry' will cut it? Unbelievable. Do you know what it feels like to love someone who doesn't love you back? To love someone whose been betraying. Do you, Niall?"
I looked down.
He scoffed. "I didn't think so. " A small smile crept onto his lips. "By the way, I kissed your girlfriend."
I scowled at him. "You wouldn't dare."
"I already did." He replied, as an unnerving smirk spread across his face.
