-Lauren's POV-
The next day, the boys called us, and told us that they had made it through to live shows. Maura was spending the day with my mom, so when she heard the news, she grabbed the phone out of my hand and shouted, "I knew you boys could do it! I knew it! I'm your biggest fan! Woo! One Direction FIVE EVER!!!!"
Niall sighed heavily. "Five ever mom? Really?"
"Yeah! It means beyond forever!"
"Oh Lord."
We all burst into a fit of laughter.
Louis cleared his throat. "So, what if we told you guys that you were invited to the live show?" he asked.
"I would freak out and fangirl in front of Simon Cowell, while touching his chest hairs!" I replied quickly.
"I second that," Piper chimed in.
"I third that!" said my mom from across the room.
"Mom!" I said, laughing.
"Guys! Would you mind giving my girlfriend, Kenzie a ride down here next week for the show?" asked Lou.
"Sure! Is she in Cheshire?" I asked.
"Yeah!"
"No problem! Just give her my number, and tell her to call me."
"Okay." He thanked me.
Everyone left the room. "Hey, where's Niall?"
"I'm not sure. He stepped out a little bit ago, I guess."
"Oh. Well tell him to call me when he gets back."
"Will do! Peace out Lo!"
I laughed. "Bye Lou!"
It was around 2:30 pm now, so I had to get ready for work. I took a shower, and pulled my hair back in a high bun. It was really cold outside, so after throwing on my usual attire, I put on my North face and drove off.
Starbucks was cramped with a bunch of high school and college kids studying for exams --- and boy were there cranky.
The lines were long, and my mind was everywhere---taking orders here, working the cash register, cleaning table EVERYWHERE.
When I finally came up for air, I didn't realize who was standing right in front of me.
"Welcome to Starbucks. What can I—oh." I said, seeing Phoebe standing before me.
"Hey Lauren."
I was completely flustered. "What do you want?" I asked.
"I just came to warn you."
"Warn me? Hah! You hate me." I replied, noticing the long line forming behind her.
"I don't hate you."
"You're bluffing."
She scanned the room. "Whatever, that's beside the point. I think everyone deserves a warning in life, and here's yours."
"Enlighten me." I replied, telling she could sense the sarcasm in my voice.
She rolled her eyes. "Well Niall has made it through to live shows, huh?"
I was about to ask her how she knew, when I realized that it was 9:00, and that she's probably seen the episode, so I just nodded.
"And, he's most likely going to become very famous soon, if I assume correctly."
I nodded again.
"Point is, he's going to forget about you soon, and you're going to be irrelevant to his life. Keep in mind that his celebrity crush, Demi Lovato, will be performing on the show at some point in the competition."
"Phoebe, Niall isn't like that. He would never do that to me."
"That's what you're saying now, but don't say I didn't warn you," she replied patting my shoulder.
"I won't, because it's not going to happen."
"I'm just saying—"
"You're seriously wasting your time here. Thanks for the warning, but don't worry about it. It's not going to happen." I replied, removing her hand from my shoulder.
She shrugged her shoulders, and then walked away. "Bye Lauren."
I shook my head, and began tending to the customers. I wasn't going to let what she said get to me. I spent the last hour of work reassuring myself that Niall loves me.
Nothing will ever come between us.
Nothing.
He promised.
"He loves me." I whispered to myself.
