3 YEARS LATER

"Y/N," a feminine voice called out. A yell, most likely. I was trapped in a dark room, and was being pulled by a group of men dressed in black armor. They were dragging me and I could see a woman with brown hair and blue eyes was banging on the window room she was trapped in.

"Y/N!! Listen to me! Please!"

I could remember her but very likely. Where's the maze? Where's Newt? Minho, Gally, Alby, Chuck?

My mind went through hell when the woman broke the glass of get room she was in and tried to get out, only to be scratched by the glass. The men put me in a glass box, which was getting rushed by water. The men pressed a button on a control board and I felt a sting ram through my body, like I was being electrocuted, but.. Like.. Not as bad.. I began to hold my breath.

"Mom!! Help me," I gurgled. I scrunched my eyebrows. It was like I wasn't even talking. It was like.. A memory? I have no control of my actions. My arms, tied around the wrists, frailed.

My fear rushed in like the water that continued to pour into the box, until they stopped it. The electric came in even faster, bringing more pain. The woman finally made it to me, and began shooting the guards using their own guns. My tears began rushing into my eyes, but stopping due to the water.

She smashed the control board, stopping the electricity. But it was too late. I finally lost my energy. The woman was wearing a doctor's vest.

She looked over to the door and saw 5 kids plus a man running towards her. They began trying to break the glass but it was plastic glass. Unbreakable.

They began looking over towards the doors and I heard bullet shots. I placed my hand against the glass, and they did the same. "Please remember, sweetie. Give it time. Remember me, we're here. And we'll wait," Mom said. then they ran. My eyes fell, and I let out my air but I could still see the men barging in, using flashlights, then my supposed family ran from their hidden spot behind the door and ran through the open door.

That's when I woke up.

Due to the fear that overcame my body, I sat up. What just happened? What do I have to remember? It's not like I can really, due to the shuckin' shanks that put me in this shuckin' place. I walked out of my hut and looked towards the Homestead.

I looked over at the others. All of them were still asleep. It was the morning, so the maze doors began opening, just like everyday at dawn. I could see Minho leaving with Ben. Of course, going without me..again. Alby was still sleeping. During the 2-3 years I've been here, he made a rule. No dating Y/N..

Yes, it sent my love for Newt down the shipper hole but you can't just.. Stop loving someone? Right?

Anyway, I thought about the boys, Minho and Ben. Why they leave without me, I do not know. I'm their keeper, and they just leave. I mean I'm fine with running. It's why I'm a runner. Well, that and I'm fast. The fastest.

Looking at the consequences, having to do something other than run for the day, I began walking around. I passed the Garden's, and walked towards the treehouse. I climbed to the top, and was startled by who I found. I looked at Newt, who had been sitting there. He looked at me, knowing he scared me and chuckled.

"Jeez, Newt. You scared me," I said. "Well, even though others say you can't be scared, Y/N, you can by me," he said in his natural British accent. I sat down beside my best friend, watching the Glade. "How long have you been up here?" I asked.

"Since before dawn. Couldn't sleep," he said. I shook my head. He looked at me but I was too busy thinking about my dream.. No, memory. I just stared at the pole, but not even focused on it.

He nudged my arm with his elbow. "Darling, what's wrong?" He asked.

I snapped out of it and my eyes flickered over to him. "Uh? Huh? Oh, nothing, nothing," I said but he knew I was fibbing. He gave me a look and I looked towards the floor. "Fine. Something is bothering me."

"What is it? Tell me. You can trust me."

"I know. And I do, it's just.. It's something I'm still registering, to be honest," I began. "Last night, I had a dream. I was being put into a box, which got filled by water. I saw a lady, trying to stop the men who was beginning to put me in the tank. She failed and they began doing something to me, that caused sharp pains. I began to slowly lose my energy. She took out the men, and tried to get me out but couldn't. Soon, a few others joined her. They had to leave cause the guards got backup. I remembered her. She called herself my mother. And I don't look too different then her. Same face, same hair color, same eyes. But the thing was that whatever it was, memory or dream, I didn't have any control. What I did, what I said.. I didn't have ANY control," I finished.

Newt was still listening, intensefully. We didn't say much after that, mostly cause we didn't know what to say.

"Did Minho leave without you again?" He asked and I shook my head. "Thought so. Sounds like him. But he's right, if he's thinking in the same mind I am, you need your rest. You've ran nonstop for the past 2 years," he told me. "But so has he. And I like running," I complained. "But you still need time to relax."

"And by relax you mean spend the day throwing the left over goat shit at each other, then yes, I do get to relax on these days," I laughed and he did too. I looked over at him. "Newt, do you think we'll ever get out of the maze?"

He didn't answer. Just looked around. But, from what I knew, there was no escaping the maze. I had ideas, but Alby told me what he told everyone else. Curiosity can kill, and it's dangerous. I still had so many questions and I couldn't get them answered. Alby told me when I came here that my curiosity would only demolish, but it only growed but I have to hide it.

Newt looked at me, lost in my thoughts one again and nudged me. I smiled and scooched over to him. I pulled my hair, still overcame with knots and ties due to me not brushing it this morning, to the side.

Newt put his arm around me and I placed my head on his shoulder. I smiled, knowing that he's there. I know that I will love him forever. In all ways.

He whispered in my ear, "it's still early. If you want you can place your head on my lap and sleep."

I did and I looked up at him. I kissed my first three fingers, pointer, middle and ring, and roughly tapped his cheek. I laughed and closed eyes, and rolled on my side. The last thing I could feel is him tracing my eyebrow in a thin line with his hand.
