"7!"

"1!"

"5!"

"2!"

"6!" I kept on calling out the sequence. But it paused when I looked up. A Griever was dropping down fast, and was going to definitely fall on someone. "Minho!"

I paused my yelling of the sequence and watched as Minho struggled. Soon, Clint yelled, letting out a battlecry and ran towards the Griever. He sent his spear through its' head but began crying agonized and painful screams. The Griever began eating Clint's leg and I helped Minho get out.

Once I focused on Clint and his leg, I fell into Newt's chest fighting the sting of the verge of tears on my eyes.

I could hear Clint being taken away, his screams being heard for miles. "Clinnnt!!!" Winston yelled.

"Y/N, sequence, now!" Chuck yelled.

"4!"

"8!"

"3! Is that it?!" I yelled back.

I watched as the doors began to shut, slamming down on the three Griever's remaining. The last one was almost a inch away from us, so I took one of my arrows and shot it in the eye, slowing it down and smashing it to smithereens.

I had a wide smirk on my face, but it soonly ended when I felt myself dropping and it wasn't a foot.

Once we made it down, I watched as I could see a hatch of light, and I stepped forward, opening the hatch.

I stepped into the tunnel which must've went on for miles but I couldn't tell because of how it was looped. Lights began turning on. And since we were dorks, we followed the lights, hopping to find a door or anything. All I knew it that we were out of the maze.

We eventually found an exit door and I looked back at Thomas for confirmation. He nodded and I opened. And let's just say it wasn't cheerful.

People lay on the ground. Breathless. Lifeless. Blood on each ones white shirt and jackets. Sirens went off, showing the distress they must've been in.

People lay dead on the floor, guns in hand. "What happened here?" Frypan asked. "I dotn know but it definitely wasn't a party," I said. I realized that my hand was attached to Newt's, both of us holding onto each other for dear life.

The Gladers stepped through an broken doors and lookrd at the dead bodies. This room was the biggest with computers, keyboards, and televisions about every surrounding inch. Sparks were broken from broken lights.

Everyone began separating except for me and Newt, who still held each other close. We walked over to a few transmitters, both showing different things. One showed a radar, one showed the Glade and one showed the brains. "So, they were watching us?" Newt asked. "This whole time."

I pulled out my camera and began taking pictures of everything's around. I took off my running chest plate, while also taking pictures.

Then, I was interrupted by a voice. "Hello," the voice said. It was a female voice. A monitor showed a female older woman, with blondes strawberry hair.

"My name is Doctor Ava Paige," she continued. "I am director of the World In Catastrophe Killzone Experiment Department. If you are watching this, that means you have successfully completed the maze trials. I wish I could be there to congratulate you in person but circumstances have seemed to prevented it."

I rose my eyebrow and looked over at Newt, who looked just as confused as I was.

"I hear by now you must be very confused. Angry. Frightened. I can only assure you that everything that's happened to you, everything we've down to you, was all done for a reason. You won't remember, but the sun has scorched our world."

The sun showed up on the screen and soon a fire. "Billions of lives lost to fire. Famine," she continued. "Suffering, unscaled.."

"The fallout was unimaginable." Burned bodies showed on the screen. "But what came next was worse. We called it the Flare.."

"A deadly virus that attacks the brain. It is violent. Unpredictable.." A man showed up on the screen that must've been affected by the.. Flare because he was going crazy, his veins blacker than the night sky, and it became my new nightmare. "Incurable," she added.

"Or so we thought. In time, a new generation amerged that could survive the virus. Suddenly, a reason to hope for a cure became possible. But finding it wouldn't be easy. The young would have to be tested.. Sacrificed in harsh envirements where their brain activity could be studied, all in an effort to understand what makes you different.."
