I looked at Alby at the Med-jacks. He was sitting straight up but facing the floor. "Alby," I said. "It's me, Y/N.."

No answer, but then again, there was nothing to really answer to. I had to give him a question. "Remember when I first came up in the box? Everyone was gathered around me, and you made everyone back up, you remember that?" I asked.

He looked at me. The first movement he made. "I do," he said. I smiled.

I backed up allowing Newt to speak. "Alby, you alright?" He asked. He just looked at him. Then, Thomas whispered in my ear. "The maze."

My legs turned into a crouch once again. "Alby, we just might've found a way out of the maze," I began. I smiled, hoping he'd smile back. But I never got one in reply. Just a solemn face, cursed with whatever he saw. "You hear us, we could leave. We could go home," I said.

"WICKED.." he whispered. "We can't leave. They won't let us," he said. Then, he looked at Thomas. His voice was crackled and his throat was scratchy. "What're you..." I took a small cough, "what're you saying?"

Alby took a small pause. "I remember," he said. "What do you remember," Thomas asked.

"You," he said, looking at Thomas. "You were always their favorite, Thomas.. And you too, Y/N," he told us. My eyebrow began to arch. Me? But then again, if I was a favorite, why am I in a maze? Full of boys with no girls.

"Why did you do this," Alby asked. "Why are you here?"

I began to hear clamoring outside. The Gladers ran out, leaving Alby there. I didn't know what was going on. "Winston!" I yelled at the boy. "What the crap-jack flippity shuckity shack is going on?" I asked, well, more like yelled.

"The stone doors, they aren't closing!!" He said, torch in hand. Then, I looked at the maze doors. He was right. "Oh, shuck it," I whispered to myself. I began to run towards the maze doors, with the little limp that was left over from when I tore my calf and twisted my ankle.

We looked inside the maze for quite some time then, we turned around due to the intruding loud sound of scraping. The remaining doors opened, making us know this was.. is not a coincidence.

When the doors were fully opened, I realized that I was back in Newt's arms, as if I'd backed into him.

This means.. With the doors open, at night, that Griever's could come out any second...

"Alright, Chuck, you go to the council, start baracading the doors," Thomas told him. "Winston, go with him," Newt instructed. "Get the others, go to the forest, go hide! Now," Gally yelled towards the Builders. I hate to admit it, but Gally did care about me. He cared about all the Gladers. "Minho, I want you to get every weapon you can find.." Thomas told him.

Whenever we weren't running, Thomas was talking with Minho or Chuck, Alby or Newt, so they grew closer. "I'll go with him," I volunteered. I began to walk but an arm pulled me back. "No, I won't let you out of my bloody sight," he said, holding me very close within his grasp. "Newt, I'll be fine," I said. "I'll be back very soon," I instructed. "I love you," he whispered in my ear.

"It won't be the last time I hear you say that," I whispered back. "Just FYI, not trying to ruin this moment, but why don't you Newt just go with us," Frypan said. I shrugged and even though I shouldn't of, in the position we're in, I laughed.

Me, Zart the fart, Minho the mean-hoe, Newt the salamander, Frypan the flying pan and a few others began to run towards the Runner's Keeper shack, grabbing any weapons we could. I grabbed another sheath of arrows, since I had almost run out. I exchanged the bow upon my back for my better one, that was homemade, and the best one I had.

I began helping carry spears, machetes, and knifes. I kept my own set of knives due to my availability to throw them with ease and good aim. I began to hear yelling, screaming. I faced out the window. I looked back at the boys' with horrified eyes.

"Boys.."

I took a deep breath.

"It started."
