Chapter 26

~Beef POV~

"Hello! Hello! Please... someone... is someone there!" A masculine voice cried as I slowly awoke to a black void around me.

"Come on! Please! Someone- anyone!" The voice was now breaking down into tears... they sounded so familiar... what was it? Wait-

"Hypno?!" I screamed out into the void, I had no idea if I was just hallucinating at this point. It really wouldn't be the first time I've been hearing things lately.

"Wait- Beef?! What are you doing here? I thought I died!" Hypno questioned back to me, he sounded somewhat desperate for any form of conversation. How long had he been here actually?

"You did die... I just also died... heh...." I mumbled awkwardly, I didn't exactly feel like talking about how I had died.

"Oh..."

"So are y'all done with your little lovey dovey family reunion?" A new voice questioned.

"Wait what-"

~5 minutes earlier+ EX POV~

"Why the hell did you just run off!" I snapped at the 2 idiots in front of me.

"We saw a book and wanted to read it!" The blue slime grumbled, he really reminded me of a whiny child right now... kinda like X-

"Correction, he saw a book and dragged me with him." xB stated as he jokingly death glared the other. They act like children? How does X deal with these people.

"Whatever." I sighed as I was about to continue walking right as my makeshift communicator went off.

"What's that?" The slime questioned as he pointed towards the watch.

"Seems like two more of your friends have come down to join us." Hels laughed as he read his own notification.

"Wait who?" xB questioned.

"We might as well go find out." I sighed as we inevitably walked back to the void to go find two more idiots.

~Present+3rd POV~

"Wait what-" With a snap of the red cladded twin's fingers the void melted away from around them both, leaving them in quite a large open room with 4 people standing beside them.

"Beef, Hypno!" Jevin exclaimed as he tackled the two onto their backs.

"J-Jevin...." Beef whispered, his voice one of relief and joy yet tears still weld up in his eyes as the image of the others mutilated corpse flashed through his mind.

The brunette quickly clung to the slimes jacket, leaving them both pined to the floor.

"You gonna get up yet so we can leave?" EX questioned, startling the two newcomers.

"Wait Evil X?!" Hypno yelped quickly toppling over his own feet while attempting to back away.

"It's EX. And yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm just here to guide you all to the Overworld. End of discussion, let's go." EX sighed as he began to walk away.

"I'm here too you know!" Hels grumbled, taking to following the other rather than be questioned.

"Let's get going then shall we?" xB smiled down at the two before offering his hand, Jevin was first to take his hand but Beef remained hesitant. The images of his corpse continuously flashed over his vision, as he watched the other be slaughtered by the cloaked figures.

He couldn't help but allow his tears to fall once again as he looked between his three friends before him. But all he saw was their horrific mutilated corpses, or the possessed knight and cloaked figures that stood over their bodies. Before he knew it his breathing was quickly spiralling out of control.

"Beef! Beef!" The other three cried as they attempted to help the other, but to no true avail. But then another voice came through. Another's touch wrapped around his back.

"Beef- or whatever your name is, I need you to breathe." Their voice was stern yet calming, it soon allowed for Beef to ground himself, his world finally focusing out of the thick blur.

"I'm sorry for what you have seen. No one should have to see what you have." They whispered into his ear, it was so calming even with how monotone their voice was he still felt safe in their arms.

"But you are safe now."

This was surprisingly wholesome chapter- but will tomorrows be? We're going back to the Overworld POV.
