(Dipper pov)

I groan as I wake up the next morning, painfully clutching my head as a horrible heachache hits so painfully it almost makes me cry out in pain.

"Morning to you too, Pinetree."

"What happened last night?"

"Depends. What do you remember?"

"I remember being bored and looking for something to do while waiting for you to come back but then it's just a blank."

"You found some of my rum while looking for something to do. By the time I had found you, you had already drank a bit much."

"That explains the heacache."

"Here, this might help a bit."

He sets a glass of water on the nightstand. I sit up with a small groan and take the glass into my hands gulping the contents of it down thankfully, my throat feeling dry as a desert.

"Take it easy, don't want you choking." He takes the empty glass from me and sets it back down. "How are you feeling?"

"Aside from the headache, I think I'm feeling a lot better now."

"You think that you're well enough to work again?"

"I believe so."

"Great, then get up because there is a lot to be done today."

I swing my legs off the bed and pull on my boots before following Bill up to the main deck.

Once we're up there Pyronica runs over to Bill, seeming to be buzzing with excitement. "Captain!"

"What is it, Py?"

"I have been talking with the others, and we have all agreed that with all of the extra rum we stole last week that we should have a party."

He just sighs as he runs a hand over his face. "Py-"

"It could be fun! It would help everyone loosen up a bit and have a good time."

He sighs again before he looks at me. "What do you think, Pinetree?"

"Me? Y-You want my opinion?"

"You're the third party here. You already know where me and Pyronica stand on the matter. What is your vote?"

"Um......a party might be fun and a good way to lift spirits like she says...."

"Very well. Py, you and the others get this thing organized. I have other work to do."

He puts a hand on my shoulder as he brings me over to the steering wheel. "You are going to be steering us today, Pinetree?"

"What? But I haven't the faintest idea how to steer a ship."

"It is quite easy actually." He stands behind me and gently grabs my wrists, guiding my hands so they're holding the wheel correctly. I blush more feeling him lean over my shoulder, his cheek brushing against mine. "Just keep us going this way and you will never go wrong. You think you can handle it from here on out?"

"Y-Yeah, I think so."

"Good. I'll see you later, Pinetree."

He ruffles my hair gently before he walks off to his office. I just try to swallow the lump in my throat as I focus on making the ship go in the direction he wants and not screwing it up.

......................................................

I yawn as I stetch my arms over my head, my body sore and tired. I just want to get to bed and pass out. Maybe never wake up ever again.

I push open the door of the galley, slightly surprised to see a party going on until I remember that I pretty much told Bill that Pyronica could have this party. Why did I even say that? I don't even like parties. I always just end up sitting alone in a corner by myself.

I grab a bottle of rum and sit at a table away from everyone else, zoning out as I get lost in my own thoughts. I surprise myself when I bring the bottle to my lips and find it empty, realizing that I drank it all.

"May I have this dance, Pinetree?" I look up and am taken back by Bill's look. His flashy hat and coat are gone and he has the sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows. He just looks normal, not like a pirate at all except for the eye patch.

"I'm not much of a dancer."

"You think anyone else here is a good dancer?"

This makes me laugh slightly. "Guess you have a point there."

I take his hand and he pulls me to the center of the room, leading me in a dance. It's nothing like the dances that would happene at Pacifica's parties. It's fun and vibrant and is just a joy to be able to let loose for once. To forget about everything else and just enjoy this one amazing moment with him.

He grabs my hands and twirls me around before pulling me to his chest again as the music ends. I look up at him, us both panting slightly. He smiles down at me as his bangs are sweat plastered to his forehead.

It's like something else possess me for a brief moment as I feel myself stand on my toes and bring my lips to his, watching as his eyes widen in surprise.

As soon as I have control of myself I instantly pull away, feeling my cheeks going bright red at what I just did.

I pull away from him, rushing out of there before he can properly reject me.

I get to the main deck, resting my forehead on the mast as I feel the tears spreading down my cheeks. Stupid stupid stupid! Why the hell did I do that?! I knew I shouldn't have been drinking again, especially after not even being able to remember what happened last night. Why am I such a fucking idiot?!

"Pinetree." I tense up hearing him behind me as I don't say anything and try to make it seem like I don't know that he's there. I can't stand to see the anger I know he'll have on his face for my stupid choice.

He gently grabs my shoulders turning me to face him and cups my cheek in his hand as I refuse to even look at him. My eyes widen as his lips suddenly meet with mine, having a tenderness that I never even realized was possible.

He pulls away and just smiles at me as I'm left a blushing mess. "Maybe next time wait for me to kiss back before you run off on my like that." He teases laughing slightly.

"Next time......" I mutter feeling weak as I lean against the mast.

"Come on, you've had a lot of excitement for one night. Let's get you to bed."

He effortlessly picks me up and I just rest my head on his chest as I feel my eyelids get heavier until they fully close.
