(Bill pov)
We all stand in Ford's office, him and Stan both keeping their distance from me and glaring at me the whole time. Mabel stands leaning against the wall glancing at all of nervously.
"Where is he?" Ford finally breaks the silence.
"Someone took him."
"Who?"
"Someone that I had thought was long gone."
"You're going to have to be more specific than that."
I sigh since I didn't really want to have to explain this to them. "Their are different kinds of demons. The full blooded ones and the half-bloods."
"You and Tad are full bloods, I know this already."
I scoff slightly at this. "You really are a fool. The reason each of us only has one demon eye is because we're both only half demon and half human. My mother and his father were both humans."
"What does this have to do with Dipper?"
"Because he was taken by a full blooded demon. The asshole took him because of me."
"What did you do? Try to kill him?"
"No, I wish though......full bloods like him hate me and Tad. Despise anything that they consider lesser than them. He and others have tried to kill us over the years for that reason alone."
"Do you know who this demon was?" I look over at Mabel hearing her question.
"......Abaddon. They call him the destroyer."
"You've run into him before, haven't you?"
"Yeah......more times than I would like. Last time we barely got out alive. I thought we were finally far enough away from him but I guess I was wrong. He specializes in certain tricks. His favorite is using mirrors to spy on people or travel through them. He pulled Dipper through the mirror before I could stop him."
"I don't believe any of this." Ford blurts out.
"You want to bet Dipper's life on that?"
"He wouldn't even be in danger if you hadn't kidnapped him."
"I didn't target him. I went to the Northwest party to get a debt that was owed to me. He made a deal, me taking him was part of the deal. I didn't even know who he was or that he was a boy until he was already on my ship. I care about him more than you could ever even understand."
"You are nothing but a liar. You are a monster and a manipulator and a murderer. You targeted him the same way you targeted their parents."
"I never fucking went after any of you! What happened to their parents was just an accident!"
"......what do you mean?" I look at Mabel as she asks this. I want to tell her that it isn't important, that this won't save her brother. But they won't help me unless they all know the truth. I can't keep running from the past anymore.
"Years ago, I taught some magic to Ford. I knew he was working for the Naval Guard so I didn't teach him anything dangerous. I eventually told him if he kept asking for me to teach him things, he was going to have to find someone else that was stupid enough to help a naval dog. He then arrested me and tried to hang me. It obviously didn't work and I swore revenge on the whole family. But I never acted on it."
"Then what happened to my parents?"
"We were getting supplies at a port. Some other full blooded creatures realized what we were and tried to kill us. We were defending ourselves but innocent people got killed in the crossfire, including your parents. It happened so long ago that I didn't know they died until Dipper told me. I went back through me and Tad's memories to find the truth. I....I am deeply sorry, Mabel, I would never intend for innocent people to get hurt like that. Especially a child's two parents."
".....why come here? What do you need from us?" Stan finally asks.
"Because I can't beat him on my own and need your help. If we don't do something then he will kill Dipper and neither of us can save him on our own."
They both exchange a look before Ford speaks up again. "Do you have an actual plan?"
"He's going to find my ship by tomorrow. I can use a spell on your ship to keep it hidden from him. My men will face him head on while you come at him from behind and take him by surprise."
"And you're sure that this will actually work?"
"He would never expect humans to stand up to him. It's the best plan that we're going to come up with under the extreme circumstances."
"This doesn't change anything between us."
"I don't expect it to, old man. I just want to get Dipper back."
"Fine. We do it your way."
I put my hand on the wall and concertrate, putting all the magic I can spare into the ship. "There. That should keep you hidden from him for now. You need anything before we go, Mabel?"
"Yeah, there are some things I should probably get from my room."
I follow her to her room and lean on the wall as she packs some clothes and other items into a bag.
"Why does this guy want to kill you specifically?"
"Because he's failed to kill me twice already."
"What do you mean?"
"Me and Tad come from a realm different than this one. When we were kids, Abaddon found us and killed both of our parents. We barely got away with our lives. Then some years back after we came here, we got into a fight. Tad stormed off and Abaddon took him. Took me weeks to find them and I barely managed to get out with our lives."
"Is that why you two became pirates?"
"Yeah. Figured if we kept moving on the open water it would be harder for him to ever find us."
"You rob and kill people."
"We rob and kill only to survive. And I never hurt your brother while he was on my ship."
"I know. He told me that much."
"You ready to go back now?"
"I guess."
I put a hand on her shoulder as I transport us back to my ship.
