Aurora's POV
I smooth out my plaid school skirt, which had unfortunately wrinkled due to my nervous twirling and I eventually develop the courage to knock on the Headmistress's door.
Oh god.
I'm slightly praying that this will just be another 'congratulations on becoming Head girl!' speech but for some reason I am very much in doubt.
The door opens with a sudden jolt and yet somehow Mrs Miller is sat calmly in her office chair.
Well that's not terrifying at all.
"Ah Aurora, how lovely to see you my dear," she says whilst gesturing for me to take a seat.
I hesitantly do so.
Mrs Miller has always had such a pleasant attitude and in most ways I'm jealous of it. Perhaps where my uneasiness originated from, as I was and still am, not one for long-winded conversations.
As you can tell, my Headmistress is quite the opposite.
"We have a new student joining us, her name is Erica and I believe that the two of you will get along just swimmingly," she smiles and clasps her hands together, "So what would you say if I asked you to give her a tour of our campus?"
In my head I'm saying 'no' hundreds of times over.
However, my academic validation is saying otherwise."Oh yeah, mhm..of course," I respond with, but in reality I would much rather die than interact with anyone at all really.
"Splendid! I'm excited to see that you'll be making friends Aurora."
"Friends?" I question, having no clue as to what she's referring to.
Mrs Miller is rather lovely but she eventually will be the death of me with her brief notices.
"Well the two of you will be sharing a dorm after all!" she explains further.
Someone get me a gun.
Please.Oh boy will I miss not sharing a dorm with anyone.
"Righttt!! Is she here now or..?" I ask, praying that she isn't.
"As a matter of fact, she is...Miss Saunders!! Can you pop in for a moment my love?"
I clench my eyes shut as if this is just a dream and that no one will walk through that door.
Just a really bad dream. The door creaks open.
Where is the gun I asked for?
On a serious note, what is it with this school? Was this girl outside the entire time whilst I was debating whether to knock?
All the more reason for a gun right about now.
I slowly swivel around to have a look at the girl.
Curiosity has literally killed the cat.
I am the cat.A blonde girl beams at me and waves.
She's already dressed in the school's uniform, with her tie done loosely around her neck.
What am I getting myself into?
"Erica meet Aurora, Aurora meet Erica," Mrs Miller says as she pokes around at items on her desk.
"Hello!"
"Hi.""Erica, Miss Campbell here is Head girl and will be touring you around our beloved school whilst lessons are in continuation, any issues do come and see me, bye bye my darlings," our Headmistress rambles and this time gestures for us to leave.
This woman and her nicknames.
It'll be sweet-cheeks next just you watch. The door slams shut and the pair of us turn to look at one another, as if to say 'What the fuck?', but instead we just let out a laugh.
We begin our walk through the main corridor.
"So Head girl huh?" Erica starts with, glad she's talking because I sure as hell don't want to.
"Yup."
"That's a pretty cool title, I'll admit I'm almost jealous."
"Almost?"
I might aswell get to know Erica, it won't hurt me will it?
"Personally, I like to not elaborate the points I make."
"How helpful," I respond with a tone of sarcasm.
Give me strength, this is going to be a long day.
