Erica's POV

Something changes when I'm with Rory. All of a sudden, I just want to spill everything I've kept bottled up for years.

Obviously, it's rather rude to trauma dump, but I feel comfortable in telling her things I would have never have thought about telling anyone before.

Being a lesbian is such a beautiful thing, but we're always perceived like we're not.

It's an explanation for why I feel comfortable in only saying that I like women to a handful of people.

After receiving comments from my parents that just belittled my feelings, I didn't want to tell anyone ever again. In fear that no one would truly accept me.

Rory still treats me as she did before I let slip, to which I am grateful for.

It's the weekend now and Leon is in the midst of trying to persuade us all to go into the village with him for a shopping trip.

"Can't I'm busy," Aurora boldly says, continuing to write at her desk.

"With what exactly?" I ask.

"Writing Christmas cards. What does it look like I'm doing?" she jokes.

I live for her banter.

Wyatt tunes into the conversation and sets up a deal, "How about we all go out today and then tomorrow we make it up to you by having a little homework club together?"

He can have a caring side to him when he wants to.

"I'm with Wyatt on this," Yaz responds and gives him a grin.

He blushes awkwardly and stares back into space.

Someone get these two together, I can't stand seeing him pining this much.

We all come to an agreement to follow through with his plan. Rory still seems a tiny bit pissed and Leon won't stop complaining about the fact that he has to do homework now.

Tough luck.

-

It takes me and Rory forever to get changed out of our sleepwear.

Shes wearing a white knitted jumper with a pair of dark blue baggy jeans and her beloved doc martens.

I wore a random t-shirt that I flung out of my wardrobe and my favourite pair of overalls with one strap hung down loose.

All of us leave the building, with permission because someone forced us and we then began our journey.

The journey Rory and I did when we went to buy her a milkshake not long ago.

She glances at me knowingly.

Once we had made it safely into the village, we decided the first shop on our list should definitely be the charity shop.

I love being British. Charity shops are my whole world.

"Oh my god. Sunglasses. For £1 each. That's a bargain!"

I also love a good bargain.

They were all facing me now, clearly judging me.
Bastards.

I let out a giggle once I see Leon wrapping a pink feather boa around his neck.

"Guys, guys, guys look at me! Aren't I glamorous?" he whisper-shouts.

"Very sexy Leon," Yaz agrees, giving him two thumbs up of approval.

Wyatt doesn't seem to happy after that comment despite knowing that Leon is extremely gay.

I hear a voice that I wasn't expecting to hear now.

"Hey uhm, Erica? Do you think these jeans would match the flannel and the white tank top I wore last week?"

She's showing me a pair of black ripped jeans.
She would look so very hot in those.

Fuck.

"The navy flannel?"

I obviously already know what she wore last week. Not that it's a competition.

"Yeah, I'm kind of in need of some new dark jeans and these look pretty cool."

"I think they match and with a bit of jewellery too, you really suit them. Buy them!"

"I would but I'm waiting to spend most of my money in the bookstore. I'll come back in a couple of days when I take some more money from my purse."

"I'll buy them for you."

"No it's okay."

"Too late."

I've already snatched them from her hands and made my way over to the cashier.

"I'm paying you back you fucker."

"Say that all you want because you aren't," I give her a playful grin and she's annoyed but I know she's glad I bought them.

"You're such an idiot, thank you though."

"I know I am."

We all eventually leave the shop with a couple of purchases. Leon bough the pink feather boa and I don't think we'll ever see him without it around his neck.

I take Rory to the bookstore whilst Leon third-wheels Yaz and Wyatt, wherever they're going.

If he went off without them both I highly doubt we would ever see him again so they'll be his parents for however long we will take.

"What's your favourite genre?" I ask Aurora as we step into the shop.

I'm not even interested in books. But I will be for her.

"I'm willing to read anything anyone gives me. I don't think I have a preference."

She walks off, browsing through the isles, picking and choosing which books she wanted from the shelves.

I sneakily took a couple of photos of her, whilst she was preoccupied. I'll paint her from these eventually, but for now she looks cute when she's invested in something.

"What are you doing?" Rory's eyes remain on the book she's currently holding.

"Playing candy crush," I respond with no hesitation.

"Sure."
