Aurora's POV

We've now entered the month of December, which is by far the best part of the year.

I love Christmas.

Erica and I are currently spending the entire afternoon decorating our dorm room with festive decor.

Our winter prom is in a couple of weeks and I'm planning on stepping way out of my comfort zone and asking Erica to accompany me to the prom.

I want it to be special because I want her to know that I really care for her even if sometimes it doesn't appear that way.

"Rory, the stupid Christmas lights aren't working," she complains.

"They must be, I've only just bought them."

"You probably got scammed with a faulty pack," Erica shrugs.

"You're an idiot," I say, checking where the batteries should go.

"Oh I know, but why this time?"

"You didn't put any batteries in. I thought that was just common sense," I'm laughing at her at this point.

"Right well, don't we know that I have none of that."

I finished hanging tinsel in every free space of the room and Erica gave up with anything even remotely technical.

We ended up collapsing onto my bed out of exhaustion.

"Rory."

"Yes?" I turn my head to face her.

"Do you think Wyatt and Leon know about us?"

"I'm gonna say most likely, we haven't really been trying to hide it too much I guess."

"True. But would you wanna like..I don't know... maybe tell them? Of course, it's entirely up to you because you're still figuring everything out and i'm not gonna force you to do something you're not ready for!! I'm only asking because there may come a time when I can't resist not kissing you."

Erica is always rambling, it's quite funny sometimes when she has a moment of panic.

"Hey- shush. Yeah, I think i'm ready to tell them."

"Really? Are you sure? Like 100%."

"Yes, yes and yes."

"You're amazing, you know that right?"

"I love when you feed my ego," I giggle and tuck my hair behind my ears.

"I wouldn't say 'feeding'. I would say simply complimenting," Erica shuffles over to me and gently caresses my face before kissing my cheek.

And then we are disturbed.

By our only friends if you couldn't already tell.

"You guys really shouldn't leave your door unlocked. You're bound to get robbed one day," Yaz says whilst slinging her bag on the floor and proceeding to dive onto one of our beanbags.

Wyatt walks in afterwards with Leon on his back. I don't even question this behaviour anymore.

"What do you want from us this time? More cushions? Because i'm afraid to say we're all out after the other week's catastrophe," I say with Erica chuckling behind me.

Leon attempts to defend his actions by saying, "Okay that was one time! And those cushions were vital for mine and Wyatt's pillow fort. We worked so hard on that beauty."

Leon definitely did not help with the pillow fort from what I saw. Wyatt was the only individual working hard. Give credit where credit's due I always say.

"Swiftly moving on, we're here for festive movie night! You know, to enhance everyone's Christmas spirit." Yaz tries to change the subject to stop our bickering.

"But why our room?" Erica asks, as if she reads my mind.

"Well my dorm is an absolute mess as those bitchy friends of mine never tidy up after themselves. And well... Wyatt and Leon's room smells of men."

"That's valid reasoning," I shrug.

The two boys seem so offended at her comment. As if noticing this Yaz says, "Sorry Wyatt it's the truth. I still love you nonetheless."

"Isn't that just sweet?" Erica whispers to me.

I let out a laugh at her comment.

"Are we just gonna ignore the fact that she said I smell. That's simply impossible and we know it."

"Sure Leon," we all say to him in synchronisation.

-

Our afternoon of binge-watching Christmas movies was extremely successful. We all wrapped ourselves in blankets and were eating a feast of snacks.

Erica and I were huddling together for warmth, Wyatt and Yaz were sharing a beanbag and Leon was in his own world probably imagining that AJ was sat with him.

It gets towards the evening and everyone packs up their belongings to bid fair-well to us.

I think this is the right time.

"Wait! Before you go, just one more thing."

Erica turns her head to face me, she has a reassuring grin on her face and that only motivates me more.

"So, Wyatt and Leon," I look at the two boys who are seemingly confused, "I- no, we wanted to tell you that...Erica and I are dating."

Erica swoops her hand into mine and tugs me towards her.

"Cool. I mean we saw you cuddling earlier so like, that just sort of explained itself," Wyatt tells us, "You two are really nice together though so it makes sense, I'm happy for you."

"Yeah we weren't trying to hide it at all were we?" Erica smiles at me.

Leon says, "Nope, but we've been secretly rooting for you two since like..Halloween. Anyways, my bed is calling me so! Toodles, lovebirds."

"Goodbye, my sweethearts," Yaz tackles into a group hug.

"See you shortly." Wyatt gives us a small wave and closes the door behind them all.

As soon as the door clicked shut, Erica wrapped her arms round me and shoved me onto her bed - with her practically on top of me.

"I am so so so proud of you."

I blush at her remark and she gives me a soft kiss on the lips.

I cant help the comment that just slips out of my mouth, "This is an interesting position we're in."

My eyes widen as my hand slaps over my mouth and Erica rolls away completely dying of laughter.

"Rory you are unbelievably freaky," she mutters in my ear.
