Aurora's POV
We stumble back into our dorm after giggling so much.
This girl has a hold on me for some bizarre reason and I'm not too sure if i'm that keen on it.
I take a seat at my desk and pull out my english assignment, tapping my pen on the surface as I think.
I can feel her eyes staring into the back of my head.
Help.
"The end of the world could be in the next 20 seconds and that is what you choose to be doing?" Erica says, rudely interrupting my thought process.
"Yes?"
"When is it due?"
"..three weeks from now," I hesitate because I know exactly what she's going to say.
"You're joking."
"No, I've actually started it quite last minute, if I'm being frank with you."
Genuinely trying to reason with her right about now, because I can assure you she will force me into doing something that involves leaving the premises.
"How about I take you up on that milkshake offer I promised you?"
I knew it, what did I just say.
If anyone can predict the future, it's me.
"Not that I don't want a milkshake, but how will we actually leave the school?"
"Easy. Say to the weird little office people that you're taking me to get school supplies that i left at home, it'll be simple to persuade them because they love you, Miss Goody-two shoes."
"Oi," I drag out.
She raises an eyebrow and smiles at me.
"It's a 15 minute walk to the nearby village, yes I've already searched everything up on google, I wouldn't promise you a milkshake if there wasn't a cafe close to us," she waves her hands around for emphasis and responds with, "See, I'm logical..and reasonable actually now that I'm thinking about it."
"I don't like lying."
"Too bad, come on, it's a one time deal and I'll never make you lie again," she's trying to bribe me now.
Not fair.
Erica is going to make me lie again and I know it.
"This milkshake is for you..I don't see why it's an issue, also it'll calm my nerves before tomorrow!"
"Fine. Put some better shoes on, your feet will hurt."
I glance down at my black converse, oh for fuck sake, she's put on converse too. Hers are white though and they suit her.
"Ha, we're matching!!" she taps my shoe with hers and laughs.
I glare at her and she laughs once more.

It took a fair bit of persuasion to actually leave the building and not to mention the fact that Erica never seems to shut up.
It's kind of nice though, having someone actually talk to you even if you rarely talk yourself.
We eventually make it to the cafe after 15 minutes of Erica wittering on.
"Isn't this snazzy?" she glanced around and nods in satisfaction.
"Sure."
"What flavour can I get you, your majesty?"
"Chocolate."
"Basic!!" she hits my arm playfully.
"Well what are you getting then?"
"Vanilla."
"Hey!! You can't judge my choices when yours is probably far more basic than mine is."
"While that may be the case, I promise you vanilla is a very complex flavour!"
"It's literally not."
"True. But it's good so be quiet."
I actually let out a laugh at her, a proper one.
She looks at me and fights back a smirk.

If i'm being honest, that was probably the most fun I've had in a while.
But I would never admit that to Erica because she would so use it against me.
Surprisingly, we made it through the front office with no one questioning where Erica's school supplies were.
Of course she grins at this.
Once we're back at the dorm, for what seems like the millionth time today, we both took turns in the bathroom to get changed into our comfy clothing.
I grab a book to read from my bedside table as it's just gone 8pm, believe it or not. Meanwhile Erica is sound asleep on top of her bedding.
She's going to get cold, considering the central heating is crap in this place. I've been here long enough to know that. I place one of the blankets from my bed on top of her and I softly chuckle at the way she is lay.
I fall onto my bed and read until I doze off too.
