Erica's POV

It's been a week since I settled in.

I've already earned myself 10 late marks and a couple of detentions. All of which were not my fault by the way.

Leon gets clingy okay?

Rory is acting off though. I see right through her half-bullshitted lies.

She has been ditching us at lunch and break times, avoiding me back in the dorm room and spending andawfully long amount of time in the library.

And no that is not just who Aurora is.

It's weird.
And I don't like it.

The only person who she willingly talks to is Yaz, but there is a high likelihood the two have never spoken before now.

So once again, weird.

We're in French class as of right now. Rory next to me, tapping on the desk anxiously and messing with the strands of hair that have fallen out of her low bun.

"Quit it, you're shaking the desk," I whisper, clearly joking.

"Sorry."

Our eyes meet and she she seems sincere. I begin to say that I was being sarcastic but she's already asked to go to the bathroom.

She leaves as quick as she could.

What the fuck?

I can't use that excuse now to go and find her. I have some logic in me.

"Ma'am, I left my..book in my dorm room, may I be excused so I can get it?"

That was not plausible in the slightest, but she nods and let's me go.

I head for the bathroom, the furthest one away. If it was me I'd go to the one right beside here, but Aurora is sophisticated and likes to over complicate everything.

The door swings open and she's there, looking at her reflection in the mirrors. Tears stained her face, only noticeable to those who looked close enough.

She rakes her hands through her hair which is now lay across her shoulders and she looks at me.

An empty sort-of look. No emotion.

"Stalking me now are you?" Rory sniffles and tries to make light of the situation I've found her in.

"I'm glad I did, you've been disappearing like this since last week. I want answers, considering this is the state I've found you in."

"It's fine, Erica. I'm fine. It's just..one of those days," she goes to leave the bathroom but I block her off.

" 'One of those days' has been a whole week, I know you Rory, something happened and I'll figure it out, whether you tell me or not."

"You don't know me, don't pretend like you do. You haven't even been here long and you think you know my entire personality. Just stop, let it go."

Like Elsa.
Not right now. Of all times.

She shoves past me and I follow her like a lost puppy back to class.

I should have had a better approach to that.

We enter back into French and the teacher narrows her eyes at me whilst in conversation with the class.

"Oh..uh turns out my book wasn't in my dorm room, so I think it's in my bag. Sorry."

I sit down awkwardly and Aurora gives me a puzzled look and I just shrug.

"That was a crap excuse to get out of lesson," Rory mumbles whilst copying notes off of the board.

"You took the bathroom excuse, there aren't anymore decent excuses in the manual."

-

All five of us sit together at lunch, thank the heavens. It's become a daily ritual almost, we sit at the same table in the exact same seats ever day, regardless.

Aurora seems to be in a better mood, she's laughing at everything Leon says, and let truth be told, everything that Leon says just makes you question life itself rather than laugh.

So that is saying something.
But each to their own.

I glance at Yaz to question Rory's behaviour and she shakes her head and shrugs.

"So..Aurora, what's made you all...giggly?" Leon took the words right out of my mouth, whilst practically inhaling his garlic bread.

"What?" she responds.

Clueless. Utterly clueless.

"You're smiley, it's unusual," I say, forking my food.

"Can a girl not smile?"

"If it's you, apparently not," Wyatt responds.

She scoffs at our remarks.

"I just had an enjoyable previous lesson, thats all," Rory waves her hands around to say 'I don't know.'

"You had maths...with me," I raise my eyebrows at her, "that is the opposite of enjoyable, I'm self aware."

"You aren't too bad. I've sat next to worser people."

I gasp.
A very loud gasp.
And I slam the table.

"Whoops..sorry this is just the first time I'm hearing this out of Rory's mouth. This is a revelation. I'm in shock, do not talk to me for the next 5 to 7 business days."

Note for today:
25.07.22
I keep rewatching young royals. It's becoming unhealthy at this point.

But anyways I finished school last Thursday so hopefully I'll update more often. Fingers and toes crossed everyone.

I'm going America though so that might delay things. Oh well. Gonna mingle with the americans😋😋
