When I voiced my concern to Mangoo, he told me that he had sent Shullat to investigate Fritz's old cell.
"Why?" I asked him.
"That's one of the last places they'll look for a traitor," Mangoo said, "and I didn't want a possible enemy to know where I lived.."
"Shullat isn't an enemy, he's nice... He helped us escape!"
"True enough, but we don't know him that well."
I frowned, but he had a point.
"So when can we tell our families that we're alive?..." Liana asked.
"Um, I really don't know. Lets wait until Fritz recovers because he probably will have some course of action. We can't just send you home, the binders know where you live."
"Oh," she mumbled.
"We also need to decide what to tell them. I don't know how well they would take 'I was kidnapped by crazy magic people and two friendly genies rescued me.'" I said.
"Djinn." Mangoo corrected. I shot him a glare.
Just then, Fritz groaned and his eyes shifted behind his closed lids.
"Fritz?!" Mangoo and I cried at the same time.
"Could you not scream? And could you tell the dwarf with the sledgehammer to go hit someone else's optic nerve?"
"Congratulations, your sense of humor remains functional." Mangoo said drily.
"Take your sarcasm elsewhere," Fritz moaned.
"You're lucky you both lived! That was highly irresponsible and you should have known better!" Mangoo lectured.
"Save it, mother." Fritz drawled, "I know my mistake."
"And as a friend, I must say you look like crap."
"Thank you. I went through the Truum to get this particular look."
"You did what."
"You heard me."
"I take my earlier statement back. That wasn't irresponsible, that was... just... You're an idiot. You BOTH could have died!"
"Whats a Trum?" I asked."Tru-um. The void. The most dangerous part of the channel we travel through. If you fall in, there is really no coming back out." Mangoo said.
"But we did?"
"You were on the edge, Another second or two and you would have been torn to shreds. It is like falling in a black hole." Fritz said.
"Pleasant. Now change the subject pretty please?" I asked them.
"The binders probably are searching for us, or other djinn. What do we do?" Mangoo said.
"We should to call upon the council." Fritz said.
"They might do something harmful to Nora and Liana," Mangoo pointed out.
"Hide them. We'll use my story about being trapped."
"Shall we just leave them here?"
"We're right here. We can hide under his bed or something if you want," I said.
"Alright... Wait here, you don't have to hide under anything but don't use your powers. The council or binders will be able to track you if your energy is activated." Fritz said.
"Won't they know where you are then?"
"We learn how to shield, i'll try and teach you when I get back."
"B-but can you teleport so soon after..."
"Mangoo will take me..."
Mangoo smirked and they were off.
