Oops! I Caught a Genie!

Chapter 32

"Now what?" Liana asked me.

"I guess we wait." I said. I walked over to the pale blue couch that matched the throw pillow now discarded on the floor. Gesturing for Liana to come as well, I sat. It was a surprisingly soft and cushy couch, I hadn't been expecting Mangoo to have comfortable things I guess.

"So..." She said."Confused?" I asked.

"Very."

"Welcome to the club. I don't know much either."

"You know, when I said go meet guys over break I didn't mean this." She said wryly.

"Oh really? I guess I misunderstood you."

"How did this happen anyway?"

"Well, I opened a box."

"Yeah?"

"Inside that box was a watch."

"Following..."

"I opened the watch."

"And?"

"There was a genie inside."

Liana slouched into the couch with a confused grunt.

"Don't they live in lamps though?" She asked.

"This one didn't, Fritz said something about people trapping them in containers"

"So that story about his father being friends with yours was all lies?"

"Sorry..."

"No, I think I get why you did it. I'm just going to make the point that the potential awkwardness of dating a family friend is gone."

"Liana!" I whined.

"Nora!" She whined back.

"He's at least eleven times my age."

"Your point?"

"There's the huge gap in ages and he still has at least seven hundred years to live."

"You'll still have your lifespan to share."

"I doubt he would want that."

"He totally likes you though, he was sooo worried about you when we were stuck in the cabin."

"Liana?"

"Yep?"

"Do shut up."

"Nope! Your best matchmaking friend is still in business!"

I groaned and tried to sink into the couch further. This would be a long wait.

Sorry about the wait and the cheesiness of the chapter.... But its a two part chapter and I swear the next part isnt like this!
