season 2 ep 2

ADRIAN STOOD BY HIS locker, trying to find his math binder when two boy's in ghostbusters costumes came up to him, awkward and nervous smiles on their faces. Adrian peered behind his locker door and snickered at the sight, resuming his hunt for his missing binder. "Adrian." He raised an eyebrow and turned to look at the again. "Yes?"

Dustin looked at Lucas and nudged him, suddenly way to afraid to talk. Lucas cleared his throat and stared into Adrian's cold and unamused eyes, the eye bags around his eyes making him seem like he had just come out of a creepy horror movie. Dustin watched as Lucas hesitated and nudged him again, earning a smack from the boy. "We were wondering if you would like to go trick-or-treating with us later today?" Adrian paused what he was dong and slammed his locker door shut, giving up on finding his binder.

The sudden noise scared the two boys — Adrian could tell because they had jumped. "Who's 'us'?" Adrian asked him, crossing his arms over his chest while leaning up against the old lockers that probably needed to be replaced. "Uh. . ." Lucas looked at Dustin, who gave him an exasperated look before looking at Adrian for what seemed like the first time since the whole interaction had started.

"Me, Lucas, Will, Mike, and hopefully the new girl — Max." Adrian chuckled softly at that, knowing that Mike probably never agreed to this. He knew Mike probably wouldn't give a shit if he joined them, but Max? He'a going to throw a fit. "Hmm. And does Mike know about this?"

Dustin cleared his throat and pursed his lips, quickly giving Adrian an awkward smile. "Well — no. But, we're planning on telling him later." Adrian hummed and nodded slowly, giving them a look. "Riiight. Okay. Well. . ." He swung his backpack over his shoulder and fixing the collar of his jacket. "Don't get you're hopes up but I'll see if I can go."

He looked both of them up and down with a teasing smile plastered on his face. "By the way, love the costumes." His tone was playful and quite annoying. The statement had caused the two boys to blush in embarrassment, but they quickly brushed that off with a smile and nod. Adrian gave them one more look before he turned on his heel and started to head for the door. "We're meeting at the Maple Street Cul-de-sac at seven. That's seven on the dot." He heard Dustin shout after him before he pushed the school doors open, walking out of the building.

Adrian snickered to himself at the boy, slowly shaking his head as he gripped onto one of his backpack straps. His curly, brown hair flew past his head as a gush of wind traveled through the air, showcasing his very subtle stormy grey eyes that were shining in the sun. The boy sighed as soon as he remembered that his dad had told him to walk home again that day. Something to do with 'meeting a girl.' He still didn't know how he managed to get a girl to go on a date with him considering he was such a bad person, but he shook his head and began his long walk home.

While walking along the lonely streets, he started to think about Dustin and Lucas and their invitation. He didn't have a costume. He never did. He never went trick-or-treating since his father believed it was a waste of time. In fact, he hated halloween so much that he threw a fit when he saw Adrian in a Luke Skywalker costume a few years back. Adrian was still a little fearful of that happening again. . . not like he'd ever tell anyone that, though.

For context, Adrian had been saving up his money and was hopping between to every thrift store in town for weeks just to put his costume together. However, when he went to go show his father his costume, his father smacked him across the face and told him to take it off. After that, Adrian vowed to never go trick-or-treating ever again.
