THE ARGUMENT

season 3 ep 2

ADRIAN YAWNED WHEN HE felt someone tapping his cheeks, muttering weird nicknames until he finally peeled one of his eyes open. He came face-to-face with his boyfriend — who was leaning over him and had a cheeky smile on his face. "Go to hell, Mike. Let me sleep." He grumbled as he turned around, pulling the blanket over his head. "You're so rude," Mike told him, yanking the blanket off of his body. Adrian scowled at him as he finally sat up. The two brought their attention to the phone that suddenly started ringing.

Adrian yawned and swung his legs over the bed since he was the closest to the phone. she grabbed it and brought the phone to his ear. "Hello?" He spoke tiredly into the phone, Mike sitting up and resting his chin on his shoulder. "How did I know you would be here?" He recognized the voice immediately, it was Max. Adrian laughed a little bit and leaned his head on Mike's. "Hi, Max, what's up?"

"I was thinking about taking El to the mall, you down to come with?" Adrian furrowed his eyebrows at that, pursing his lips. "Is she even allowed to go out?" He heard her hum slightly as if she were thinking, but then she cleared her throat. "Not really, but who needs to know?" Adrian couldn't help but smile at that. "Also, El met this new girl who moved here not that long ago, she said her name was Frankie. El wanted to hang out with her because she said 'She seems nice.'" Adrian's mind flashed back to when he had accidentally bumped into that nice blonde girl at the mall. If he remembered correctly, that was her.

"I mean sure, I don't care to hang out with you guys." He felt someone tapping him and looked at Mike momentarily, leaning forward to give him a small peck on the tip of his nose. "What time?"

"As soon as you can get there." Adrian laughed a little bit and nodded his head, even though she couldn't see him, and looked at the clock on Mike's wall. "Alright, I'll be there around 11." He heard Max hum in agreement before the line beeped, signaling that she had hung up. "Where are you going?" Adrian got up from the bed, Mike stumbling just a bit from the loss of support. "The mall. Max wants to hang out, I guess." Mike raised an eyebrow and frowned.

"Seriously? I thought you said we would be able to hang out more." Adrian ran a hand through his messy hair and turned around to face the male behind him. "I know, but I spend the night a lot and I don't get to see Max as much as you." Adrian was really hoping that Mike would understand where he was coming from considering he was at Mike's house more than his own. He practically lived there at that point, he even had his own drawer full of clothes in Mike's dresser. Speaking of which, he pulled the drawer open and started to dig through it, grabbing a pair of denim shorts and a random oversized t-shirt.

"Well, I'm sorry that I want to spend more time with my boyfriend. If it's an inconvenience to you then go right ahead." Adrian furrowed his eyebrows. Where the hell had that even come from? "What are you talking about? It's not an inconvenience. . . I just wanted to hang out with Max."

"You seem to do nothing but try and avoid hanging out with me." Adrian felt like a fish out of water when he heard those words. Was Mike being serious? Had he been avoiding Mike? He couldn't help but think back to every time he and Mike hung out. Maybe he had. . . He doesn't know, but he's pretty sure he always gave Mike his undivided attention when they hung out. "You keep saying we'll get to spend more time together but so far we haven't been able to spend much time together this summer."
