Salutations to the king of both worlds,
He who is the creator of all creators,
Salutations to the lord of eternity,
He who is older than Time.

You are the unrivaled omnipotent one,
None shall ever be as great as you,
You are the epitome of life, stability and power combined,
The great being who brought forth life.

Your shade is similar to a new born leaf,
Green and full of life,
While your frame is bound by linen like the deceased,
Representing your control over both.

You are the master of justice,
You listen to every prayer made,
Your judgement is unparalleled,
To be questioned by no one.

You are the lord of all that exists,
And of that which do not,
You know the past, present and future,
For nothing can be hidden from your eyes.

You are the master of ceremonies,
You preside over each of them,
Benevolent lord, forgive the mistakes which we make,
Whilst engaged in the mundane affairs of life.

You are the lord of creation,
Revered by every architect and craftsman,
They represent the creativity you blessed humanity with,
Perhaps the greatest of all your gifts.

You reside in the land of Men-nefer,
Along with the great lady Sekhmet and your son Nefertem,
I pray that may you purge this world with your holy feet,
As you have purged that exalted land.

You gave birth to the world with your great strength of mind,
And brought forth life with only your word,
One day you shall submerge them into yourself,
Bringing an end to this creation.

You are said to have birthed the sun,
The great source light and life,
Without this gift of yours,
No life can ever survive.

You are the lord of numerous names,
Worshipped you are in various forms,
Yet we try to diminish your worth with preposterous logic,
Forgive such atrocity, o great lord!

You are the cosmos immense,
And this beautiful earth,
You are the source, you are the power,
You are the life of this world.

You are the Supreme Being,
He who is unparalleled and second to none,
You are the abode where oneday we will submerge,
Just like that day when we came from you.

Thus here ends the hymn to the great father,
He who shall never be replaced from our hearts by any means,
Bless us with health and stability,
That is my sole prayer to him.

Note; Ptah is an ancient Egyptian deity, the god of craftsmen and architects. In the triad of Memphis, he is the husband of Sekhmet and the father of Nefertem. He was also regarded as the father of the sage Imhotep.
