"I'll head home now" A stern voice echoed throughout the large office. Men and women who are in their professional attire rambled to fix their belongings and greeting their boss good bye. This is just only a partial of his busy schedule, nevertheless, plain.

Shifting his sleeve down, gazing at his gold rolex, It was already late- too late, yet his job is still ongoing no matter he rest. "Sir, About the trial of-" The voice of his secretary fading out. Bright's out of focus whilst walking to his office. "That will be all" His secretary finishes without him being aware of what she said, He could read it later. Bright nodded crashing down to his cushioned seat, hearing the wooden door closed behind. Bright couldn't help but sigh in distress.

This night is now included where he missed bonding with his son, Kai. At this point, He knows he's asleep so he didn't bother messaging his mother- who takes care for his son in the mean time. Gazing to his huge office window admiring the city lights below. Nothing goes through his mind but his only son who's waiting at home.

Slowly opening the wooden door to Kai's room, As Bright expected, He was fast asleep. Bright quietly walked towards his son's sleeping body. He sat right next to him as he fixed the messy blankets all over him. "How are you Kai? I'm sorry that Dad's late again" Bright whispered gently planting a small peck on his son's forehead and cheeks.

Bright got up and marches his way out of the room, shutting the door tight. Two pair of sleepy eyes made their way up. The boy stared at his side still processing, Kai turned around to the direction of the door which were his father used to leave. "Welcome home Dad" He whispered quietly returning to his previous sleeping position, swaying back to his dreams.

The sound of Bright's alarm clock rang loudly through Bright's ears. He was still at daze, particularly he doesn't know how many hours he managed to slept- three? five hours? He doesn't know nor he cared, He needs to get up.

Walking to his son's room, He was left flabbergasted and soon panic rose through his senses. Kai isn't in his bed. "Kai? Kai! Where are you?!" Bright asked loudly quickly rampaging through his son's room. He looked everywhere but to no avail he didn't see his son making him panic even worse. "Kai!" Feeling a light tug on the ends of his pajama top, Bright quickly looked down from his behind. Sensing a relief to see his missing son.

"Dad, I'm here" Kai innocently answered to his father's distress calls. He was already showered and in his uniform- even though it's still messy. Bright kneeled down in one knee bringing his son to his embrace. "I didn't know you already prepared yourself. Gosh, Are you really a five year-old" Bright exclaimed while fixing his son's uniform.

"But I'm turning six" Kai complained looking at his father confused. For Kai's morning brain, He didn't quite process his father's words, He thought that if he's five then he's wrong all along. "Yes but you're still five" Bright continued as he grabbed the brush from Kai's drawers starting to fix his hair.

"How did you become so independent Kai?" Bright asked breaking the silence between them. He was amaze for his son's independency. "Grandma taught me how to prepare myself for school. She said that so I won't bother you while sleeping" Kai said to his father whispering his last words as lowly as possible. Even if he thought his father didn't hear, Bright surely did. Stopping at his tracks, He stared down to his son speechless.

How can he be so ignorant. Letting his son think of this type of things. Bright mentally sigh as he forced a smile for Kai. "But you can come to my room even if I'm asleep. I won't mind that you know. Okay?" Bright said energetically trying to motivate Kai. Bringing his thumbs up reassuring him. The boy nodded as he showed his thumbs up as well.

The drive to school was quiet, For Kai it was a wonder, staring through the window and seeing all the things from the outside- mostly though are either plants or buildings. For Bright, It was suffocating, The silent and awkward tension between him was choking him to death. In his mind, He knew they were not close- not like those usual father and child bondings. Him and Kai are different, Both of them from a different world even if they stick together.

"It's my all fault as well" Bright whispered to himself. He turned his half attention to Kai who is still staring in amusement. "Promise me you'll be good" Bright started waiting for his response. Kai nodded not looking towards his father, preoccupied by the passing sceneries. Bright thought to himself, "Has he never been outdoors that often"

Bright got off the car first as he opened the other side of the door for his son. Kai was ahead from him as they walk towards the classroom. The teacher was the first to greet them, introducing herself and making Kai introduce himself as well. "I will take care of him now" The teacher said happily which Bright thanked. His gaze wandered the teacher and Kai who were holding hands together as she guides him.

Kai looked back at the door seeing his father still standing at the entrance. He hesitantly raised his hand and waved before retreating, shyness quickly engulfed him. Bright chuckled and waved back before heading back to his car.

As he sat in his car, A familiar figure stand loosely infront of him, it was long after when that figure walked away. Bright stared sternly but couldn't say who. A loud call interrupted him seeing his mother's missed calls. He knew exactly what she's calling for. A nanny for Kai. This was something she has repeated multiple times yet Bright still failed to find one- for now.

They were either in for him or someone who doesn't particularly takes care of a kid. Who knew hiring one was tough or is it just his high standards. Bright sighed, He already know one that fits in his criteria, He only needs to get a hold of him but when he wants to contact him, He's always unavailable, forcing him to meet him person.

Bright stretched his body to reached the stacked files on the backseat. Getting atleast one stack of papers, papers and photos was left to fall from the car floor. Bright, even if he was annoyed by this own clumsiness, picked all the fallen papers one by one.

It was only three stuffs left that were scattered on the floor. He began to pick the one from his left to his surprise was a picture of Kai's last ultrasound. "How did you got here" Confusion in his tone. He wondered the picture, Bright still remembered when he received the good news that he will become a father as well as the moment of this last ultrasound photo, signifying that the baby is close due.

The next one on his middle, Another picture of Kai when he was a newborn. His small face was calm and asleep yet was flashing his smile. Kai was born small yet he managed to get big in the following months and years. "I was so excited back then and you were too" Bright chuckled to himself.

The last was picture of him and Kai on his birthday. He was carrying Kai in his arms, both seem genuinely happy. "You look so cute here. You were once small now look at you, Big and independent" Bright complimented to himself. He thought that if Kai were here what would his reaction would be. Would he be mad? Would he be confused? Or would he atleast be happy and smile at their memories.

"You're all big now Kai, It's too fast. I'm sorry if I didn't get to see you flourish in this age. I regret it so much as I wasn't always there for you" Bright whispered with a trembling smile, as he closed the gap of the picture between him. Thousands of thoughts ran through his mind but they were all related to Kai and him only. "I'm sorry you didn't get to see her"
