Chiisai swallowed and rose to her feet. She saw silver hair, and the bag fell from her hands and on to her bare feet as Kakashi Hatake's nightmares flashed across her vision.
Kakashi Hatake was in her home, and his shoes were off. His vest and main shirt were gone too, and she had an incredibly good view of his physique, thanks to his skin-tight tank top. She could count his abs from across the hall.
Six. Not that she was counting. Nope.
And with his headband off, his damp hair was disheveled and hung over his eyes. And then there was the fact that he didn't have his mask on.
She knew what he looked like, but it had been years since she had seen those dreams. And now, seeing him...
Gods, how long had she been staring at him? And why was her heart beating so fast? There was no way he would have slept with her- he was outrageously out of her league.
"You're in my apartment." She tried to speak in a controlled voice. This made no sense. She always avoided ninja, especially ones like him. How could she have had a one night stand with Kakashi Hatake?
Sounds of Tori munching on the spilled pebbles of cat food filled the silence. Kakashi walked towards her and studied her face. "Judging from your expression, I take it you don't remember yesterday," he said.
"Correct," she articulated in hard consonants. "I have no idea what's going on."
His gaze shot downwards, and he cleared his throat, looking away. He scratched the back of his head and asked, "You really are clumsy, aren't you?"
She frowned and replied, "That has nothing to do..."
Her eyes darted down.
Her shirt was practically see through now, and she was pantless.
Shit.
"Look," Kakashi said, not looking at her. "Go get dressed, I'll make coffee, and I'll explain everything when you get back."
Her eyes narrowed, and she tilted her head to the side. "Did we...sleep together?"
"What?" His voice sounded perplexed, and a chuckle escaped his masked lips. He looked at her, and the cake, and the present, and finally looked back to her and what she was wearing. He said, "I can see where you're coming from. But no, we did not sleep together. You have a concussion, and I'm your medical aide."
"Oh thank goodness." Pain split across her forehead, and she took in a harsh breath. Her fingers went to her face, and sharp stings and rough skin met her touch. She groaned and forced out, "Why are you my medical aide?"
Kakashi sighed and muttered, "And we had made so much progress."
"What are you talking about?" She seethed through closed eyes. Could she trust what he was saying? He was a ninja, after all. But the concussion story lined up with how she was feeling.
