His gaze flickered to Kakashi as he said, I'm surprised you broke through my trap. Did you not enjoy seeing your old comrades? Or perhaps you saw something more enticing?
Chiisai leapt off the ground and hurtled towards him before Kakashi could react.Chiisai extended her hands, blasting out a wave of energy. Kuroi bolted out of the way, but his daughter was a rage of fury. She was on him again, shoving him against the ground. Before she could make a hit, Kuroi had dematerialized and reappeared behind her. Eyes glowing, Chiisai turned in time and sent him flying across the landscape.
She glared up at him, remembering what he had done, what he had said all those years ago. The abuse, the manipulation, the fear he had instilled in her- no more.
Kakashi's voice echoed in her mind, how he had said she wasn't a monster, a murderer. And the more she had spent time with him, the more she had believed him. And the more she realized that what she had told herself for years had just been echoes of her father and mother.
What was Chiisai? Perhaps not a kunoichi, perhaps not a normal citizen, but something else. Something more.
Kuroi skidded against the ground, smiling as he wiped the blood from his lip. Are you even trying, Small Crow?
A hundred Kuroi's suddenly surrounded her. Chiisai's fist came down on the ground, sending a ring of fire outwards. It bombarded each target, making them disappear as quickly as they had come. However, several leapt over the flames and flickered in front of her. They were quick, and before she could retaliate, Kakashi had activated his chidori and rammed through all three of them.
"Go," he said to her. There was another shadow clone of Kuroi, and Kakashi moved towards it, kunais at the ready.
Her gaze flickered up to the nightmares above her before glancing back at her father.
She was a keeper of dreams, a devourer of nightmares, and she would not let this thing in front of her win.
It was time to act.
Her chakra emanated around her body and sailed to her opponent. Kuroi's chakra connected with hers, attempting to pull out the energy radiating within her. She locked on, leaving them both immobile as they tugged back and forth.
Gods, she hoped this work.
And then, she let go, ramming right into him. The two collided, and Chiisai pressed her hand into Kuroi's forehead.
"I'm taking back what's mine," she said.
She absorbed his chakra in a steady stream. Kuroi's nails dug into her shoulders as he smiled. Then, he too let go, and the image of him fizzled into pure chakra.
Chiisai fell back to the ground as her fingers dug into her chest. Every ounce of chakra was inside of her, and she crackled with energy, her chest heaving with quick breaths.
Kakashi stood over her, his eye wide with worry. The place quaked with energy as Chiisai's glow brightened further and further.
Her eyes found his before her body convulsed, her pupils flickering to red. She grabbed onto her head.
Kakashi took hold of her shoulders, but he was instantly blown back. The air was knocked out of him as he collided into the tree. He staggered to his feet and gazed in horror of what lay before him. She was on her knees, her hands in fists as the ground around her burst upwards, defying gravity. The air spun around like a storm, yanking at his hair and clothes.
"You've lost, Small Crow," her voice was low and booming like thunder, her eyes glowing blood red. "The dream world will be everyone's reality. And I now have the power to do just that."
