I can't decide if Grayson is being sincere, if what he said last night is even a snippet of the truth. Does he really think that what my father is doing is unacceptable? That he would help me if things were easier. My mind wasn't sure. Sometimes I don't know who to trust, if I should trust anyone at all.
Anyone could screw me over at any given moment. Turn to my father and blab about everything I've been saying. Trying to escape, to leave and abandon the marriage.
But I felt like I saw genuine sorrow deep inside Grayson's expression. Like he wants to do something but he doesn't even know where to start. If he can even help me without getting us both killed. I wouldn't put it past my father.
We didn't speak for the rest of the night and I went to bed early. Not that I could sleep. My brain ached so much that even closing my eyes was painful. But somehow I drifted off to sleep and found myself waking up to the light seeping in through my bolted windows. Sad that I can't even invite fresh air in here because they're afraid I'm going to jump out of this window and run.
Bold of them to assume I'd chance a thirty feet drop. But sometimes I convince myself I would. I'd do anything to escape this prison, even if I broke my legs in the process.
When I'm done with laying in bed I get myself up and straight into the shower. Blocking out the last two days otherwise I'll be in a downward spiral for the foreseeable, I need distractions. I need to focus my attention into something that makes me feel like I'm not living this life, even for a couple of hours.
