I've never hated work more in my life. Ever since Everly won her court case against the royal family, I needed to go back to work so that we can afford to live in my tiny apartment and I can treat her like she deserves.

So I've taken as many jobs as I can through the agency. Including club security guarding, chaperoning and other roles I'd rather gouge my eyes out than do. But I think about Everly, I think about our future.

She deserves the world and more.

When I head home after a day of body-guarding a manor for a private function, I stop off at a shop on the way home and pick up a bouquet of pink roses.

Since having difficult hours to work, Everly has been understanding of my situation. She never complains, she's never ungrateful. She always greets me with a warm smile and a heart clenching kiss.

As I push my keys into my apartment door, the smell of fresh herbs and tomatoes fill the air. Everly is standing in the kitchen whipping up some dinner, I'm not entirely sure what she's making but it smells delicious.

The door shuts behind me and she twists her head over her shoulder, blue eyes instantly lighting up at the sight of me. She dusts off her fingers on the edge of her leggings before making her way towards me.

"Hi, sweetheart," I say before pecking her on the lips.

Everly beams at me with happiness. "Hi, I made us dinner."
