I'd take a thousand beatings if that meant Everly was safe. But I know that's not the case. Hearing as she screamed and cried out for me had my soul shattering into pieces, now I'm dreading what she's going to have to endure when I'm not there.
Now that her father knows that we've been sneaking around behind his back before the wedding. My skin whitens at the thought of him laying his hands on her, punishing her for wanting to have a different life.
When I furrow my eyebrows my head pounds with an ache, I know I'm covered head to toe in bruises but that is the last of my worries. I'm out of the castle and I have no idea when I will see Everly again.
But I know one thing for sure, I have to stop that wedding. Whatever it takes. I promised Everly it wouldn't happen and I never go back on my word.
I have no idea what this means for me now, if the King is going to press charges against me for breaching my terms and conditions or breaking my non-disclosure agreement. They have so much power that with the click of their fingers they could have me in a prison cell, probably stage my own suicide to get me out of their way for good.
My only hope is that Everly does something, anything, to ruin the wedding. It's going to be televised, she's going to be the star of the show. If she screamed anything, cried and begged. Someone out there should be listening, studying her body language enough to realise that she is in danger and has been this whole damn time.
