Aisha's POV

After a long, stressful day at work with loads and loads of people to feed, all I dreaded was a peaceful night walk. The sweet neighbour and newfound friend in the barren city had barged into the bubble I was living in. That too by snatching away my cotton candy. This man. I huffed in annoyance as my legs started moving side by side with him.

He was, well, handsome. The sharp jaw chewed the candy with such grace that angels would land on earth to take classes on how to eat from Aaron. The almond eyes, drown in the golden sea pool, shine with the night light as they move and looked at the people around. What? We must admire the beauty. Friend or not.

But you said Koreans are your type. My inner voice asked with her own wide eyes.

They are, sweetie. I assured.

"How large is your one bite? You have eaten half of my cotton candy." I asked.

He looked down at me, the six feet four-inch frame overshadowing my five feet 5 inches. For someone watching us from afar, it must have looked like an ant gawking at a tall tree. No body-shaming intended. But, he radiated this... I don't know, powerful aroma with that silly smirk on his face. "Oh, but sharing is caring. Next time, I will give you mine. Happy?"

I rolled my eyes. "Why do I have a feeling you eat such things only once a year?"

"So you agree I am well built?"

I raised my brows at him. Hah! In my dreams. "Do you smell it?"

He threw the stick in the dustbin, patting the crumbles from his face as he looked at me with a bored expression. "What?"

"Arrogance and overconfidence." Leaning forward, I sniffed his shoulder. "Oh, it's coming from you. Too bad. Chanel ain't doing a great job at hiding the smell. Disgusting."

His left brow raised with a perfectly arched 'v' and I smiled in triumphant at him. Might have grinned when he narrowed his eyes at me with an annoying expression. "Nobody talks to me like that."

"I am not nobody, then."

He shook his head and the comfortable silence grew between us as we walked, making the tower appear big before me. I took a deep breath. At least I have someone to accompany me in the darkness of night. No matter how little we knew each other, unknowingly he was resonating like the ropes of a broken bridge enough to hold the strength. I was that broken bridge. Utterly shattered with the scars and far away from peace.

No matter how much I tried to make myself happy or to enjoy the moment I was in, every time those black clouds hovered over my head with a signboard reminding me of the pathetic past and its aftereffects.

Pushing away those thoughts and mourning about my life would not lead me anywhere, but at least I could try to make some friends. Even though Rahul bhaiya clearly warned me to not make any friends, no matter where ever I was.... in hopes of not risking revealing my identity. When I started working at the restaurant, he went to the limits of digging out every single piece of information about Nichole and his family to make sure I was safe there. As much as it swelled my heart that he cared for me, it made me question everything in my life. Had I not been so much in my mess, I would have lived the life of my dreams.

"What are you thinking?" his voice boomed from my front. Not realising that I stopped walking in my thoughts and he was hovering over me. I was so consumed in my misery that I forgot Aaron was with me for a second.

I shook my head from left to right. "Sorry. Nothing. I am thinking nothing."

He chuckled. "Liar. It's okay if you don't want to tell me."
