The faith of all humans conforms to the nature of their mind. All people possess faith, and whatever the nature of their faith, that is verily what they are.

Aisha's POV

Life.

The chunk of moments bound together with a string of time.

At the end of the day, we were bound to look at the gorgeous cover and judge the book, not considering one bit how many crumbled and rejected pages made this book a collection of perfect pages.

There had been ups and down. Down in particular, but look where I have reached. If somebody told me I would have a lovely home, a man I love, who loves me just as much, a family to call my own, a peaceful life... I would have laughed at their faces.

It was as if there was no ambition, no direction for me except for the dark spot to drown in my miseries. Hell, if I did not deep dive into that darkness until I touched the pits of hell itself. But, here I was. In Aaron's apartment, laying on the couch listening to the song on full volume with just... peace in my heart.

Closed eyes, the tune touched the peak, making my heart thump into the chest. It's been three fucking months since I got discharged from the hospital. At least say, the McOwen family was on their toes to make me crazy with their caring tactics.

Teresa visited every day, and we have either lunch or dinner. If she did not make it, a call had to be on its way. We made sure to talk and talk and talk. Communication had always been accessible with her, without judgment and more like a friend. Even though she had that motherly look always, she was a friend to have heart to heart with.

Alex was another story.

Guess what I call him now?

Yup. Guilty as charged. I call him papa. Because if anyone deserved that title, it could be him. Only him.

Alex was there for me to give the fatherly hugs when I broke down during our conversations, he made sure I was provided with everything under his watch. Safe to say, one day when I was craving a blueberry cheesecake, I secretly dialled his number. He came to the apartment that night unannounced and fulfilled my wish, irrespective of all the protests Aaron did. That boy stumped his foot on the floor, but Alex was the king of the house.

Alex, papa, told me he saw us, Aaron and I, coming into a relationship long ago. But, all his doubts vanished when he caught us dancing in the apartment. What more could he ask than a girl like me to annoy the shit out of his son, and give all the love at the end of the day? His words, not mine.

Bhaiya had also been elected the chief minister with the majority in Delhi. Not only that, he had been offered a position in the cabinet as either defence minister or home minister. Which was like, the next best thing that could happen. Even though the offer was tempting, he would be serving as chief minister for some years.

And... the gossip of the decade... he had proposed to the girl he was seeing. Realising that life was too short to take things for granted. And I could not be happier than I had been these months.
