Jungwon was in a bad mood.
An extremely bad mood.
He obviously couldn't fall asleep after his detention, and that meant that getting up on this shivering cold Monday morning had taken away the little motivation he had left in his heart.
Niki on the other hand seemed quite happy, which was weird on its own, but Jungwon didn't want to ask.
"Aren't you even going to say good morning?" asked Niki.
"What?" asked Jungwon frowning.Niki had just woken him up, and he realized they had almost reached the Great Hall. Jungwon didn't remember putting his clothes on nor leaving the common room.
Damn it.
"'Morning Niki, sorry, I kind of spaced out" explained Jungwon.
"Yeah, I did notice that" replied Niki.Jungwon sat down next to a group of third year Gryffindor students.
"So, what happened at your detention?" asked Niki, not able to contain the question anymore.
In fact, he would have preferred to talk about it yesterday night, right after it, but Jungwon came back as silent as a rock and he had immediately laid down on his bed, not saying anything to Niki.
The latter had been worried about it, but he also needed to respect Jungwon's personal space, right?Well, apparently he had decided to respect it yesterday, cause this morning he wanted answers and details.
Before Jungwon could decide wether or not he wanted to answer, the owls started coming inside the Great Hall, bringing everyone's mail.
Every Monday, Jungwon and Niki received their Quidditch News, which related every quidditch event, from player's toe injury to perspectives for the world cup.Jungwon paid the owl as Niki started opening the magazine.
Jungwon even thought this would buy him some time, but oh boy was he wrong.
"Okay, it's on page 17" mumbled Niki, marking said page by folding the top corner. "Okay now, back to business. What the heck happened last night?"
Jungwon sighed.
"To be honest, I don't really know..." said Jungwon. "I came to the potions classroom, he was there and I don't know, we started chatting."
Niki closed his eyes longer that he needed. He was probably already seeing trouble coming.
"You chatted?" he asked as he spread butter on his toast.
"Why are you shocked at that?" replied Jungwon, taking a sip of his pumpkin juice.
"Cause if I remember correctly, you had serious questions to ask him, didn't you?" asked Niki.
"Well, I wasn't going to barge in and just be like: "we were so close, why did you act as if I don't exist for the past four years?" was I?" asked Jungwon.
"Why not?" asked Niki, planting his eyes in Jungwon's.
"Cause I'm not you" said Jungwon calmly.Niki shook his head.
"And then?" he asked.
"Then I spent detention cleaning weird stuff, and then he called it a night" said Jungwon, getting more depressed as he said each word.Niki stayed silent. His half eaten toast just waiting for him in his hand.
"And that's it?" he asked, confused.
Jungwon hesitated a while.
"No" he finally said. "I knew time was up, so I needed an excuse to see him again."
"Oh boy" commented Niki.
"I asked him if he would agree to give me some pointers to become a prefect" said Jungwon.
"Stupid, but smart" whispered Niki, finally remembering his toast."And I could tell he was going to say yes. He had this expression on his face, and I don't know, his eyes... but he suddenly changed expression and said no" explained Jungwon.
"That's rough, buddy" said Niki."Then he looked at his watch, looked back at me and disappeared" said Jungwon.
"What?" asked Niki. "Just like that?"
"Yeah, I don't know either" whispered Jungwon. He hadn't slept the whole night, and he hadn't been able to eat anything this morning either. Hopefully, three sips of pumpkin juice would be enough to go through the morning right?
"We should get going, we have Transfiguration class now" said Niki.
~
Professor Lyptus' class had gone well. The two friends had met Heeseung and had manage to arrive on time.
The rest of the day passed extremely slowly for Jungwon. He felt like he wasn't really there.
Well, to be more precise, he felt his body going from class to class, taking notes and nodding at his friends, but his mind wasn't there at all.He didn't want to be there.
He wanted to go back to his bed, wrap himself with his red blanket and become a human burrito.
He wanted to eat his whole stack of chocolate forgs. At least, the last lesson of the day was over and he had a little free time before supper.
"Oh, Sunoo!" called Niki.
He waved at their friend who had just entered the courtyard. The latter turned heels to walk towards them.
"How are you?" he asked Niki, with the sweetest smile on his face.
"I'm good now" replied Niki, smiling back.Jungwon was still in his world. Otherwise he would have noticed the cheesiness of the scene happening right next to him.
"Won?" asked Sunoo.
"He's not with us today" explained Niki.
"What?" asked Sunoo, before receiving a summary of what had happened.Jungwon heard his own story from afar. He was focused on two people sitting on the other side of the court. Two Slytherin boys. One was Jay, and the other was probably a friend of his. Jungwon could see from here that he was extremely handsome, but not as much as Jay.
Niki followed Jungwon's gaze until he saw them as well.
"Come on Wonie" he said. "Jay made it clear he didn't want to talk to you, right?"
"I don't know about that" replied Sunoo, catching Jungwon's attention.Niki's eyes felt heavy on Sunoo, so he hurried to explain himself.
"Didn't you say that Jungwon thought Jay would say yes, and then he changed his mind?" asked Sunoo.
"I did" confirmed Niki.
"What if he wanted to say yes, but something else prevents him from doing so?" asked Sunoo.Jungwon frowned.
He had never thought about that because he didn't want to raise false hope. But what if Sunoo was right?
What if something had happened and Jay couldn't be friends with him anymore?
That would explain why he seemed happy but then said no to seeing Jungwon again, right?"Plus, we already know Jay has secrets" added Sunoo.
"Secrets?" asked Niki."I know he's a prefect and he has duties, but what good reason does he have to wander at night like that?" asked Sunoo. "Plus, you said that he looked at his watch before disappearing, didn't you?"
Sorry for the late update!! I had some family stuff going on these last few days, but it's all good now!
Thank you all for your patience❤️❤️❤️
