Private Lessons

I was at my locker during lunch, not knowing what to do. "Hey!" I hear come from next to me. I jump and turn to the voice. "Edric! You scared me!" I punch him in the arm softly. He giggles and sits next to me. "So, whatcha doin?" He asks curiously. "Nothing." I respond.

"I'm gonna be straight forward with you. Do you wanna hang out after school? Like- I'll teach you some magic," Edric asks me. I look at him. "Well-" He looks at me as we lock eye contact. "Uh.. y-yeah! That'd be nice!" I manage to mutter out. My face feels fuzzy and tingly. Also warm. "Hah, your face is red." Edric laughs." I smile softly. His hand touches mine and grips it.

I turn my head and look forward. Then I hear her. "Oooh! Ed's got a boyfriend!" I look at her. "Emira! go away!" Edric shouts. "Haha! No!" Emira says through her laughs. Edric stands up as he let's go of my hand. He turns to me. "Let's go Hunter." I nod as I put a hand on my locker and push my self up.

~ A few minutes later ~

Me and Edric were sitting outside the school. Edric has a arm around my shoulder. As people leave and enter the school, they'd stare at us.

I laughed when I saw someone's face while they entered the school. "What's so funny?" Laughed Edric. "That person's face!" I manage to say. I pointed at them. He laughed too.

~ After school ~

I sat outside of the school where me and Edric were just a few hours ago. I was waiting for him. Where is he?! The bell rang 15 minutes ago!  I stood up and was about to leave. I saw him run out of the school and almost fall flat on his face. I laughed as I walked over to him. "Hey Ed," I say. He looks at me and smiles. "Hey Goldy!" He replies. "Can't believe you waited for me!" He worked at me. Wow- he's pretty tall.. He grabbed my hand and dragged me away from the school.

"Woah! Woah! Where are we going?!" I shout. "Somewhere!!" I roll my eyes as he continues to drag me. We end up at the tree from the grom, that Luz and Amity made. Edric sat down and leaned against the tree. I sat next to him and sighed a sigh of relief. "So, what shall we do first?" Ed asks. "Ooh! I want to get better at illusions!" I shout. "Okay! okay! No need to shout!" He laughed.

He explained the basics. He held up his finger and twirled it and King was magically infront of us. "Now- since you can't use your finger, use your staff." He explained. I tried, and it did not work very well. I twirled my staff in the air and there was just lots of fog and smoke. We both laugh for a minute. Then we continue.

~ A few hours later ~

I looked up to notice that the sun was going down. I tapped Edric on the shoulder and pointed at the sunset. "Look," I whispered. He looked at the sunset and smiled. He put his arm around my shoulder, like earlier. We sat there till the sun was down. "So, why were you whispering?" Ed whispers. I look at him and chuckle "Because." "That's not a real answer goldy." He laughs. I chuckle again as I stand up.

I hold my hand out for Ed's. He grabs my hand and pulls himself off the ground. "What do we do now?" I ask as I grab my staff. "Let's go to the owl house!" Ed beamed. "Alright." I answer as we started walking to the owl house.

~ Several Minutes later ~

"Here we are." I say as I open the door. We walk inside. "Wow, I've never actually been inside the owl house before" Ed says looking around. I chuckle as I hear Luz coming down the stairs. "Hunter! You're ho- wait- Ed? What're you doing here?" Luz said. "Luz, go back upstairs." I snap. She looks at me, not phased. She giggles, "Yeah, no." I groan and grab Ed's hand and walk upstairs as he follows behind me. "I've never been inside the owl house before" he stammers.

I laugh at the random thing he just said. "What? I've never been in here before!" He shouted. "Yeah yeah, I know." We make it to my room and I open the door and walk in letting go of Ed's hand. He sits on the edge of my bed as I put my staff down next to my bed.

Edric looks around my room and sees Luz's stuff. "You share a room with Luz?" He asks. I turn to him and nod. "Yeah, my room was better in the emperor's coven though. At least I didn't have to share a room." I reply as I sit next to him. "It's getting late- I should head home," he said as he stood up. I looked at him as I pulled myself up.

"I'll walk you out I guess." I said. He nodded as me left my room. Once we got downstairs I opened the door for him. He walked out and I followed after him. "Um. The grom is happening next week- and I wanted to know if you had a date yet..?" He muttered. "Today was my first day, how could I have had a date?" I laughed. He laughed with me. "Alright, well I'm gonna head home now," He said before turning away from me. "Okay, see you tomorrow ar school" I said after him.

After he left I walked inside and saw Luz standing there. "Uh- what do you want? Wait, we're you listening to our conversation!?" I shout at her. She smiled and nodded. "He was totally asking you to grom! That's why he asked if you had a date!!" She eagerly said.
