Surprise

I stare at Luz for a few seconds. I shake my head. "No he wasn't!" I shout angrily. "He was!" I walk past her, my shoulder bumping into hers. She almost falls backwards and chases me up the stairs. She continues to try to convince me that Edric was asking me to grom.

I open my bedroom door and slam the door on her face. "That's my room too!' She yells through the door. I grab some pajamas and change into them. I lay in my bed and roll over.

Was he really asking me out? No- he wasn't. We just met. I think for awhile until I roll over and look at the window to see that the sun was already rising. I sit up and stretch. I see that Luz is in her bed. Did I fall asleep? I get up and grab my outfit. I remembered that today we didn't have school. So I picked out some different clothes. I left and went to the bathroom. I changed and looked at myself in the mirror. "Wow.. my eye bags are darker." I whisper to myself.

I leave the bathroom and head downstairs. I open the fridge and get some eggs to make breakfast. I put the pan on the stove and start it.

I sit at the kitchen table and look at my food. I sigh as I grab my fork and start to eat. After a 2 bites I felt sick. I couldn't eat more. I put my hands on the table and stand up. I grab my plate and fork, I walk over to the trash can and throw away the rest of my breakfast. I put my dishes in the sink and sit on the couch. I put my boots on as I hear Eda waking up. I could hear her door open. She walked downstairs. "Goodmorning kid," she says as she looks at me. "Morning" I mumble, not looking at her. I stand up and walk to the door. Eda went into the kitchen.

I went outside. I walked around the woods for awhile. Eventually, I could see Boneborough. I walk to the market place and take a look around, as I never really got to look around here. I was pretty hungry so I went over to the "Snack Shack". I looked around in there for awhile. Then, I picked up some water and walked over to the check out. And of course, Edric Blight was behind the counter.

"Oh, hey Goldy" He says. "Hey" I respond quickly, "why are you here?" He looked at me like something was wrong. "My mom thought it was best if I got a job while I'm not at school. So today's my first day." He complains.

After a few minutes of chatting with him I left and continued looking around the market place. After a while, I saw that the sun was setting already. So i walked back to the owl house.

When i got back, no one was home. They were probably at Human Collectibles, the shop that Eda runs. I sat on the couch thinking. Then I saw some of Luzs glyphs. I remembered that she told me what they do. But, I didn't remember which was which. I picked one up and set it in my hand. Then, I tapped it with one of my fingers. A ball of light flew out of my hand.

I was beyond fascinated. Then, I heard a knock at the door. Who would be knocking so late at night? I get up and walk over to the door. I open the door and see no one. "Down here brat!" A voice I recognized shouted. I looked down to see Kikimora.
