I wake up in the morning, well-rested, and go through my normal morning routine. I get to the library and sit down, waiting for everyone to get there. This time, instead of trying to scare me, Lee comes up and kisses my cheek. I smile and look over at him, and he smiles back.

"Y'know, I've been wanting to do that for months. I just couldn't work up the courage to do so. Then last night, even after you swerved me at the swimming hole, it just felt right." Lee says.

"Well, I've liked you for a while, but I never thought you felt the same, so I never voiced my feelings. I'm glad you kissed me. I didn't mean to swerve you, I just heard Summer and Tyler and I got distracted, you know how I am" I respond.

"Yeah, yeah I know. Anyways, what are you doing tonight? We can go see a movie or something, if you'd like," He asks.

"Uhm, let me get back to you on that. I was thinking about just going stargazing or something by myself to have some alone time," I answer.

"Okay, well just let me know what you decide. I know how you like you thinking time, so I'm not gonna impede on that unless you want me to," Lee says.

I smile at him, glad that we were friends before he started dating so he already knows how I am. Summer and Tyler walk up, and I turn around to greet them. After the bell rings, my school day goes on mostly like normal, except I kept feeling like someone was watching me. I would look around, but I wouldn't see anyone looking. After leaving school I decided to go sit at one of the many peaceful creeks in this small town, and I sat in the bed of my truck, writing, and listening to the trickling water. I sit there for hours, writing down all of my feelings, and everything that had gone on since the last time I wrote in it months ago. When the sun starts to set, I see people pulling up, and starting to set up for a party. I sigh and get in my truck, deciding to drive a little bit down the road so I won't be able to hear their music too much. I pull off at another part of the creek and lay back down in the bed of my truck. I watch the sky go from a mix of orange and pink, to a dark blue. I can still hear the party down the road, but it's not loud enough to disrupt me. I lay there for a little bit, but then I hear walking around me. I sit up and look around, but I don't see anything there. I hear the footsteps again, and I get out of the back of my truck, listening. After a few minutes of waiting I decide to call out to whoever, or whatever, it is.

"Hello? I can hear something walking out there, and it doesn't sound like an animal, so if it is, I'll be surprised." I say with a laugh, waiting for a response.

I hear a few more footsteps, but still, nothing comes out of the woods.

"Look, I don't care who you are, you're probably just some teenagers from the party trying to find a spot to fuck, but that spot isn't here. You should leave, or come out of those woods." I say, upset that they interrupted my peace.

I hear the footsteps get closer, then someone slowly emerges from the woods. When they take a step towards me, I take a step back, not able to completely make out their features.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"You don't remember me? I caused the biggest change of your life, and you don't remember me. That's upsetting," The man says while taking a step into the light.

I back up, immediately recognizing him. He runs at me, and slams me against the tree behind me, and a branch stabs me in the back. I scream in pain and look him in the eyes.

"What the hell are you doing here? You've already ruined my life, what more do you want?" I yell at him.

"Well.. I want you to feel how I felt. I want you to lose your friends, the people you hold dear." He replies calmly.

"I've felt that and more because of you. Our parents are dead because of what you did, how dare you come back and try to ruin it more." I say.

"Oh, I would love to take credit for that whole ordeal, but alas, I cannot.  That was your fault. Think about it, you decided to not accept it, which made you uncontrollable. What happened was all your fault." He says.

I slowly pull myself off of the tree, blood pouring from my back. He winces at me then laughs, enjoying seeing me in pain. I slowly stand up and face him.

"What are you going to do? You're barely strong enough to stand, let alone fight. Plus, you're bleeding quite a bit." He says, challenging me.

I chuckle, then quickly pull my pistol out of the holster on my side. I cock it, and try to shoot him in the chest, but end up shooting him in the shoulder. He screams in agony and clutches his shoulder, then he looks at me and scoffs.

"Nice move, and bullets. This is the end of our fun tonight, but I'll catch you at another time. Sleep with one eye open, Eliza, and tell your sister I said hello," He says with a smile.

"Fuck you," I say before raising my gun again.

I shoot at him, and in the blink of an eye, he's gone. I huff and fall to the ground, the little strength I have starting to diminish. I slowly crawl to my truck and grab onto it. I cry out in pain as I struggle to lift myself off of the ground.

"Next time I won't fucking miss," I mumble to myself.

I cough, and blood spills onto the ground. I sigh, then slowly wander off into the woods.
