I wake up in the morning and notice Lee is still sleeping soundly, then I sit up and stretch before checking my phone. I see that it's 8 a.m so I turn and wake Lee up.

"Lee, it's 8, we're gonna be late to school," I say.

"Can't we just skip today? I don't wanna get up," He groans.

"Okay," I say before cuddling back up to him and falling back asleep.

I wake up a few hours later and Lee is still asleep so I carefully get up and walk downstairs. I look in the fridge and see that it's been restocked with blood bags. I get one, cut a little hole in it, then I stick in a straw and take a sip. I hear a knock at the door and I make sure there isn't any blood on my lips before opening the door, hiding the bag behind it.

"Oh, it's just you. Are you going to make house calls a regular thing, Austin? " I ask.

"Just me, and I mean, if you want me to. Today I just came to ask if you wanted to hang," He answers.

"Uhm, well, I'm not really doing anything, but I do currently have company," I say.

"Oh, well I don't want to impede," He says.

"I can just tell him that I'm going out. He'll probably sleep most of the day anyway. What were you wanting to do?" I ask.

"I want to take you to see something. I used to go there to clear my head, but I haven't been back in 80 years, so I figured I'd share it with a new friend," He says.

"You might mean well, but it sounds like you're trying to lure me somewhere to kill me," I say with a laugh.

He laughs and says, "I promise I'm not. You can bring whatever you want to protect yourself just in case."

"Okay, well come inside and sit down while I go change," I reply.

He nods and comes inside then he sits down on the couch. I take another sip from the blood bag and he looks at me, confused.

"Why do you drink from bags?" He asks.

"I don't particularly like hurting people. I don't drink from a person unless I have permission, or I have to," I answer.

He nods at me then I walk upstairs. I keep the tank top on, but change into blue jean shorts, then I put on a pair of tennis shoes. I walk over to Lee and softly shake his arm. He wakes up and squints at me.

"I'm gonna go out for a little bit, but feel free to keep sleeping. We have food and drinks in the kitchen if or when you want them," I explain.

"Okay.." He says sleepily.

I kiss his forehead then walk back downstairs before finishing the blood bag and throwing it away.

"Okay, ready when you are," I say to Austin.

"Okay, let's head there now," He says, standing up. I lock the door on our way out then he holds out his hand.

"We're gonna run there, so you might wanna hold my hand. Don't want you getting lost or left behind," He says.

I hesitantly take his hand, then he takes off. I struggle to keep up, surprised at how fast he can go. All of the sudden he stops in the middle of a lightly tread trail.

"It's better for the experience to actually walk the rest of the way," He explains.

"O-okay," I say, a little out of breath, "I knew you got stronger with age, but I didn't know that you got faster."

"Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot about that," He responds.

"It's okay, I was just.. Slightly surprised," I explain.
