"Look at that Hawkins!" The frontman shouted observing the couple intent on getting out of the taxi: both seemed to be very tired, their dull eyes spoke clearly. The four-hour flight from Los Angeles to Washington's Ronald Raegan was tough, at least on the way from the capital to Alexandria they were able to close their eyes and doze off. As soon as Taylor got out of the car, he wrinkled his nose under his black glasses because of the too bright sky that morning, and cursed himself for not wearing a heavier sweater as soon as they got to the airport. The redhead, however, as much as she could give a hand, got ready to get their luggage out of the car under the worried gaze of the blond who, as soon as he paid the taxi driver, ran towards her to help her. "Go inside before you get a cold." She almost scolded him, pulling the suitcases to her before the drummer snorted them off. "I don't understand why you have to be so stubborn." Diane settled the other bags on her shoulders, rolling her eyes and walking past him without replying. "We were starting to worry, we hadn't seen you fight yet." Claudia, with her arms crossed over her chest and her left shoulder resting at the entrance, smiled at her friend who continued to keep a serious look, but who nevertheless threw herself into her arms as soon as she was close enough to her. The drummer joined them shortly after, quickly entering the house due to the cold he was feeling on top of his spring clothes. After a quick exchange of hugs between Dave and the redhead, they all sat down in the main hall. "Couldn't you have taken a house in... I don't know... Mexico?" Taylor asked with his back bent towards the fireplace that had been lit shortly before by the singer, as this one shook his head, pursing his lips, clearly judging his friend's words with his eyes. "A little too much, don't you think?" The drummer turned his gaze to the redhead, raising an eyebrow before approaching her with his back straight and his arms crossed over her chest. "What is your problem?" He questioned looking at her from the other down because of those 5 cm more that he possessed compared to the girl. "Ok, ok, Taylor, let's go." Dave takes his arm, pulling him to himself before heading to the stairs and starting to climb upstairs. "What the fuck!?" The drummer exclaimed, observing the dark-haired man, looking for answers in his eyes that could justify that behavior. "Let it go, the old Diane is just coming back."
That day, both Claudia and Dave tried not to let the two meet for any reason, so they would have time to calm down and think clear about their mistakes. The brunette took care of showing the house to her friend and she, ecstatic, seemed really happy to be in that place, in that exact moment. It was all as she had always imagined for a typical mountain house, the white walls, the window frames and almost all the wooden furniture, very narrow but at the same time spacious. During the tour of the various rooms, the two girls also found themselves passing by the recording studio that had placed the singer in the basement. The scene that appeared in front of them made the redhead smile: Taylor was sitting behind the drums, focused on his fills, while Dave, kneeling next to the hi-hat, seemed enraptured by the movements and sounds produced by the blond. The brunette watched Diane smile faintly and as she shook her head, thinking about how stubborn and proud she really was with the most important person in her life. The love that there were between the two was now more than obvious, but there always seemed to be some problem, even a minimum of nonsense that prevented them from being able to live that love in peace. Diane got lost in the movements of the blond who didn't leave even a piece intact, then preparing to perform the beat of Been Caught Stealing by Jane's Addiction, one of his favorite bands and one of those bands that he could have talked about for hours. When the drummer, with his lips parted and out of breath, looked up he found in front of him the redhead who, within a few seconds, made the hint of a smile disappear from her lips, immediately turning towards Claudia to indicate to her to go out. The bassist, before following her, turned to the two and shrugged to respond to their looks, one questioning and the other disappointed.
