Out the Rainy Window

Everyone else cries, the day gone the wrong way

But I'm fine, I'm not going outside anyway

I'm happy in my quiet place, my silent fantasy

I look out the rainy window, a safe spot to see

Everyone else plays the songs of others, copying their melody

On a keyboard I don't know how to play I write a silent harmony

I play a chord, understand, the rhythm and the rhyme

Out the rainy window, rain patters, shingles chime

Out the rainy window, in the pouring evening storm

I can sit there and forget the truths I normally mourn

A artist by morning, poet by noon, and musician by night

A lightning flash of inspiration will hit me so bright

Everyone else frowns, negativity their blindfold

I venture out into my dreams, what could the future hold?

Is the world a sadder place without the words I convey?

I'm mostly unnoticed for now, but, maybe one day

Out the rainy window, in the pouring evening storm

I can sit there and forget the truths I normally mourn

A artist by morning, poet by noon, and musician by night

A lightning flash of inspiration will hit me so bright

Arpeggios, that all you know? Minor scales, lost in a flow

Of something I can only find when those thunders of clarity hit my mind

Everyone sings a different song, maybe you're right, that doesn't make me wrong

Tear out the pages you stole from me, I'll make my own symphony

Out the rainy window, in the pouring evening storm

I can sit there and forget the truths I normally mourn

A artist by morning, poet by noon, and musician by night

A lightning flash of inspiration will hit me so bright

So, I wrote this one night when playing around on a keyboard (I don't play piano or keyboard, I play guitar, but I have enough general music knowledge to have made it sound half decent) and I don't know, I just pulled this out of no where. Some poems are so draining to write, but this just came naturally, flowed to easily. All in all, it was fun to write, and I hope you like it.
