Crystal in the Rough

Sometimes the sky is dark

And full of nothing but thunder and rain

Sometimes joy may seem lost

In a sea of hopelessness and pain

But you've got to keep going because

The sun is there behind the clouds

And you've got to keep trying because

Light is there, hiding being the dark shroud

There's always a pearl in the dark sea

There's always a guiding star in the night

There's always a fire burning through the storm

There's always a crystal in the rough

It may all seem against you and like

Your efforts are all for not

And that spark of hope inside

Is the very last thing you've got

But there's always a pearl in the dark sea

There's always a guiding star in the night

There's always a fire burning through the storm

There's always a crystal in the rough

It's never really over, even if it seem so

Don't forget your dreams, even if they seem a distant call

Things may seem impossible, and like no one understands

But sometimes that storm outside, is only inside after all

No matter how bad it seems, there are those

Who have it worse

So once you make your way

Help others to do the same

Strive to be the pearl in the dark sea

So, this one is based off of one I made back when I was like 9, but I found it in an old notebook and spruced it up a bit so it sounds a LITTLE bit less like something from My Little Pony.
