Chapter 5
Layla swallowed hard as she looked around the club, all of the people looked so mean. Lissi and her friends had already run to the dance floor. Layla felt quite lost everyone looked as if they wanted to kill her. Of course no one would recognize her as the princess, she was wearing normal clothes and no makeup. Carefully she glanced over to some tables were people were playing card games. Layla liked card games and really wanted to join. Trying not to look terrified she went to one of the tables and sat down next to a togruta. “Can… can I join you”, she asked quietly. The people stared at her in disbelief. There were five people at the table. The female togruta, who looked as if she lived on the street and smelled like it, a scruffy Wookie, a woman with a creepy droid eye, a Rhodian with a huge scar across his green face and a man in a black cloak. “And who are you?” creepy-droid-eye-woman asked. “I am Lily”, Layla lied. She prayed that no one would notice her blush slightly, that always happened when she tried to lie “I am Jade”, creepy-droid-eye-woman grinned seemingly not noticing her lie. “I’m Trixie”, stinky-Togruta said: “and this is Fluffy” she pointed at the Wookie. “ I am Qui gon”, cloak-guy said. “And I’m Tommy”, scar-faced-Rhodian said. “Nice to meet you”, Layla smiled shyly. Jade just sighed quietly:” so you wanna play cards with us? Do you have any cash little one?” Lily nodded and put some coins on the table. Everyone's eyes light up except Jades and Qui-gons they didn't seem very interested in money. “Then lets see if you are any good at this game”, Jade smiled. She gave everyone some cards then she looked at Layla:” you can start kid!” Layla took a deep breath and focused. Everyone had a different tactic and Layla struggled to beat them, but in the end she still won. “Not bad”, Tommy said surprised. “Yeah you aren’t so dumb how you look”, Trixie grinned. Fluffy growled disappointed. “Can… can he loose?”, Layla asked nervously. “Yeah, not really! But that is the last club he is allowed to go to cause in the others he ripped his opponents arms of cause he lost. So don’t worry, he won’t attack you.”, Tommy answered happily. That didn’t really make Layla feel any better. “You can have the money if you want Fluffy”, she said quickly. Fluffy growled quietly. “He thinks you want to trick him”, Jade said laughing. “No you can really have it”, the princess smiled and pushed the money over the table. Fluffy stared at the money then quickly grabbed it. Trixie shook her head in disbelief:” don’t you need the money kid?” Layla shook her head. “Then why are you here", the togruta laughed. “For fun?” the princess shrugged. Trixie laughed: “You are weird!” Layla only managed a shy smile, she was probably the most normal person at this table.
She won most of the next rounds and then gave the money to Fluffy. That had two good sides: one she didn’t need to explain to her parents where the money came from and two she didn’t loose her arms. “I think I have to go now”, Layla said after an hour:” my parents will worry otherwise!” The others seemed a bit confused, but didn't make any attempts to stop her.
It didn’t take Layla long to find Lissi and her other friends. “That was cool”, she grinned:” but can we go now”, it’s dark already and I don’t want my parents to notice that I am gone!” “We are staying for another three hours, till midnight!”, Lissi grinned and them danced away. “Then I guess I have to go alone!”, Layla thought to herself.

“Did you notice her tactic?”, Qui-gon asked Jade quietly. “Well it was definitely good, that kid won so many times!” “That’s not what I meant! Her tactic is a royal tactic. I was already once on this planet and I played cards with the king and he had the same tactic.” The Jedi whispered. “Why should the princess be here?” Jade asked confused. “I don’t know but she is definitely not save here”, Qui-gon said worried.
