Chapter 10
The morning was rather cold. It had been raining and little droplets of water hung on every leave of the old trees in front of the hotel. Jade considered just continuing the mission without Qui-gon as she couldn’t spot him anywhere. But she was sure she would never hear the end of it if she got into trouble again. “He is probably meditating somewhere”, she thought to herself and took out her commlink. After a few seconds Qui-gon picked up:” Oh, good morning Jade I’ll be there in a second!” “Hurry up”, she hissed. It took him about a minute. “Finally, I already wanted to go alone!”, the pilot said impatiently. Qui-gon didn’t respond to that. “He’s learning”, Jade laughed to herself. “So what’s your plan?”, the Jedi asked with a slightly mocking smile. “Well I believe we should go to the head guards house, I already found the location, and spied on him a bit to find proof. Then we deliver him to the royal family and make him and his friends confess.”, she answered. “I guess I don’t have any say anyway, but I agree.”, the Jedi nodded. “Good for you!”, Jade shrugged walking towards a taxi.
The house was rather big. Jade would nearly describe it as a mansion. “Okay, I’ll knock out the guards, then…”, “I’ll handle the guards”, Qui-gon interrupted. Confidently he walked towards the guards. Jade followed a little confused, what was that idiot planning? “We are authorized to enter?”, the Jedi master said with a slight gesture. “You can enter?”, the guards repeated stepping to the side. “It would have been much more fun to beat them up!”, Jade sulked. “You should avoid violence whenever you can”, Qui-gon replied:” but I am actually quite Shure that you didn’t really want to beat them up.” “What makes you think that, I am a bounty hunter. Bounty hunters sometimes even kill people.” “You are a pilot and part time thief, no bounty hunter. And I don’t believe you ever killed anyone. Your blasters are set to stun.”, he responded dryly. “Cause of our deal”, she argued. “The deal was only a test I wanted to see how you reacted and you agreed without arguing just so I played fair. You hate Jedi why would you ever make a real deal with a Jedi.” “It doesn’t make a difference anyway, you’re just trying to get back at me for being bossy an if you keep being a know it all I am going to kill you.”, she hissed. The Jedi decided it was wiser to shut up, much to Jades relief. She wanted this Jedi to believe she was dangerous and not just some thief and pilot. Probably it was stupid to think a Jedi would be scared of the person she pretended to be, but it made her feel safer. It didn’t hurt if someone insulted the person she pretended to be.

Qui-gon reached out with the force to sense if anyone was there. He felt a few people coming towards them and wanted to warn Jade but suddenly another vision hit him. He saw a red Jedi Holocron. It floated in a little cave. Screams and cries came out of it. Black vines begun to grow out of it faster and faster. They reached the Jedi temple, no a ancient version of the Jedi temple. Jedi run out of the old building but the vines wrapped around them taking them into the darkness of space until no one was left. “Qui-gon watch out”, Jade called bringing his mind back to the present. He only barely managed to doge a blaster bolt. “Blast it!”, he cursed:” they found us”.

Jade ducked behind some cupboard as she heard people approaching. But Qui-gon didn’t move. He stood frozen staring into nothing. Of course they noticed him. “Qui-gon, watch out!”, Jade called. The Jedi managed to dodge the blaster bolt a guard fired at him. Jade suspected that he was the head guard, cause he wore really fancy clothes. Tommy was with him. “What was that?”, Jade asked Qui-gon. “I had a vision”, he replied shortly and ignited his lightsaber. Jade froze. She could feel the heat of the green blade. In shock she stared at the Jedi. She remembered Ki adi Mundi’s attack clearly.
Jade took out the paper roll and took a quick glance at it. Suddenly he heard a hissing sound. “put that down!”, a voice said. She turned to see ki adi Mundi. “Catch me if you can, Jedi”, she laughed. He used force speed and suddenly he was In front of her. Shocked she tried to protect her face with one hand but the burning blade cut right through her arm and burned her face. The pain was terrible worse than anything she had felt before. It felt like the burn she had once gotten whilst fixing an engine just much worse. Ki adi Mundi lifted his lightsaber again. His face seemed blue cause of the light of his blue blade. “He is going to kill me! She thought in horror. I’m only 24 I can’t die already. Suddenly the glass behind her burst and Sunshine flew through the broken window.
Jade started running, away from l the Jedi. “I hate Jedi, and their stupid lightsabers!”, she thought panicked. Suddenly someone blocked her path. He wore a black cloak, which hid his face completely. The cloak had weird red writings on it. “So, you are Jade!”, he said in a creepy voice:” finally I found you!” Jade ignored him and kept on running. He seemed to limp, so she soon lost him. It was raining again now. The sky was dark and lightning light it up every few minutes just to be followed by loud thunder. Jade was exhausted and soaked so she decided to hide under a roof. “Jade?”, she suddenly heard Qui-gons voice:” where are you. Jade started running again but soon reached a dead end. “Stay back, go and fight the guards!”, she yelled, her voice trembling. “No we will fight them together! You have to face your fear!”, he called. Carefully he came closer as if he was approaching a scared cat. “You can just use a different weapon!”, she hissed. “No you have to face your fear. What if a Jedi or a sith ever attacks you. Will you just run. You can’t outrun a Jedi! We have force speed.”, Qui-gon argued. “I’ll just stay away from Jedi and the sith are dead anyway.”, Jade panted. “I don’t believe you have a choice. I felt the dark side in my vision. Maybe we will have to fight a dark Jedi or something similar to a sith”, the Jedi said quietly. Jade took a deep breath:” okay!”
Carefully Qui-gin handed her his lightsaber. The hilt was heavier then Jade had expected. It was cold but she could feel a mystical power glowing inside like a heartbeat. The pilot hesitated then she ignited the emerald blade. It hissed as rain hit it and steam rose from it. She flinched slightly as she felt the heat of the blade. Cautiously she spun it. It felt like a stream of pure energy. A weird mystical energy. But it wasn’t a dark and negative energy, it was pure light. The lightsaber felt more like a shield then a offensive weapon like it was not designed to kill but to protect. Carefully she deactivated it and cave it back. “I guess it’s kinda cool”, she smiled carefully. Then let’s arrest those guards”, Qui-gon said, with a slight smile. “I am still leading don’t forget that, Jedi!”, Jade grinned: "so let’s go and arrest those guards!”
