Chapter 12
Jade struggled to keep up with Qui-gon as he walked towards their ship. “Come on I want to at least stay for the court hearing”, Jade called:” and it’s my ship anyway! You are going nowhere without me!” Qui-gon finally stopped. “It’s to late anyway!” Jade winced as she spotted the figure hiding in the shadows. It was the same guy she had seen as she was running away from Qui-gon. His face was hidden by his torn cloak. The cloak was black decorated with mystical paintings. He wasn’t tall quiet small actually maybe a little smaller than Jade and she wasn’t really tall. Slowly he stepped out of the shadows and lifted his head. His skin was red and his eyes orange, despite that, his features were quite humanoid. Scars crossed his face which made it hard to define his age, but he was quite old. “Remember me?”, he asked Jade with a sinister smile. Jade gasped: “You sent me to steal from the Jedi!” “Yes”, he sighed:” and I regret it! You really messed up. I need that card to find the journal! Where is it?” “Gone”, Jade shrugged. For a moment deadly silence filled the streets then he smiled again: “ But you know where it leads, right? It’s on this planet?” Jade took a step back: “how do you know?” “Your thoughts betray you!”, The hooded figure chuckled. “You want to destroy the Jedi. What is it You are looking for? What is this “Journal”?”, Qui-gon asked. “You wouldn’t care Jedi”, he hissed spitting the word “Jedi” out like an insult: “And you will never know!” In a flash he ignited a red lightsaber.

Qui-gon reacted without hesitation and also ignited his lightsaber. Slowly they circled each other trying to predict the other’s next move. Qui-gon reached for the force. What he felt was unexpected. The force didn’t want him to kill this sith and was trying to tell him something. “I am one with the force”, the Jedi master whispered barely moving his lips. Rain started to fall and thunder rumbled in the distance. A lightning bolt shortly light up the streets and the face of his opponent. Qui-gon could see determination and fear in the dark force users eyes. Then the Jedi master rushed forward. Green and red blades clashed illuminating the faces of the fighters. Qui-gon stayed in the defense blocking every blow of his attacker with ease. Something was of. Qui-gon could feel it. This wasn’t a sith he was fighting. Yes his opponent was trained in the arts of lightsaber fighting but only a little. He was clumsy and his footwork was terrible. He could have maybe beaten a padawan, but not a fully trained Jedi. He was also not relying on the force or using it for attack. A sith would have done this. Qui-gon knew that Yoda wouldn’t approve but he had to trust his instinct and the force. Calling on the force he ducked under the next attack and grabbed his opponent’s lightsaber. Then he turned and pointed the green and red blade at the mysterious force user. “Now tell me what it is you are looking for.” “Fine”, the dark force user sighed: “As you are going to kill me anyway I might as well ruin your trust in the Jedi!” Qui-gon deactivated the lightsabers “I only want to talk”, the Jedi master said. “Maybe he only wants to talk but if you come one step closer to me I will kill you!”, Jade interrupted. “I would like to see you try!”, the sith hissed: “but anyway I’m Oskar and I’m not what you Jedi call sith but I am related to the species sith. The species that the Jedi slaughtered!”
