Chapter 13
“Remember the sith holocaust? Or did the Jedi already forget it. Buried it beneath all their arrogance! I bet no one really knows what the Jedi did hundreds of years ago! Or do the Jedi teach their padawans about their mistakes? Well now they won’t have any choice, because I will find the journal of one of the few survivors. She managed to escape with her children and recorded what happened in a Holocron. She tells everyone what the Jedi did in this Holocron and I will show everyone the truth! Even if it’s the last thing I do! I dedicated my whole life to this. To finally show everyone the truth!”, Oskar snarled. “What was the sith holocaust?”, Jade asked Qui-gon. “I don’t know much about it, but from what I know it was the Jedi’s greatest mistake! I read about it in the archives but you are right Oskar, the Jedi cover it up.”, the Jedi master answered sadly. “What do you know about it?”, Oskar asked. Suddenly he seemed careful as if he was walking on thin ice trying to reach the shore. “I only know there was something called the sith holocaust and that it was terrible.”, Qui-gon sighed. “The sith were a proud species”, Oskar begun quietly: “but the Jedi were worried they would turn on them cause they were close to the dark side of the force so the council decided to kill every one of them, even the children! They justified it by saying the force willed it. They killed them all except for a few who could get away from the attack. That’s all I know. Like I said the Jedi did a great job covering it up!” Jade glanced to Qui-gon he looked a little shocked. “I shouldn’t be surprised”, he said after a long silence: “The council always feared the dark side. That’s why they also fear the prophecy of the chosen one. It says that the chosen one will bring balance but balance is light and darkness. The light cannot be the light if it extinguishes the dark. We have to find this journal. That is what the force was trying to tell me. The Jedi need to know of their mistakes. They need to find balance!” Oskar smiled: “You are different then other Jedi Qui-gon Jinn. Maybe you will even help bring balance to the force and bring back the true Jedi!” Jade smiled slightly and reached into her pocket pulling out a grey Holocron: “then let’s bring this to its rightful place.” “How did you get this?”, Qui-gon and Oskar asked stunned. “As we came to this planet I recognized it as the place from this card I stole from the Jedi archives and I decided to see what for a treasure was hidden here. I was quite disappointed as I only found a Holocron but I guess it was good that I kept it.”, the pilot grinned sheepishly. “You could have told me!”, Qui-gon complained. “I felt it wasn’t the time”, she answered. Carefully she handed it to Oskar. He looked at it in awe then handed it to Qui-gon. “You will know when the time is right”, he whispered.***
Qui-gon watched the stars speed past as they entered hyperspace. “Do you think the Jedi will listen?”, Jade asked quietly. Qui-gon didn’t answer for several minutes only stared into hyperspace the light reflecting in his dark blue eyes. “No they won’t”, he then whispered: “but one day they will!
Many years later
Luke carefully open the box Obi-wan Kenobi had left him. His eyes fell on a grey Holocron wrapped in black cloth. Slowly, cautiously he picked it up. The force flowed around him. Luke closed his eyes and concentrated. A burst of light illuminated the little hut as it opened. It was time. Finally the Jedi were ready to listen and learn from their past mistakes.
