Summer book recommendations!

Summer is here, that means more time to read! Therefore I've made a list of books that I think would be perfect to read during the summer!

Fantasy

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

This is a four book series that takes place in a small town called Henrietta in Virginia. It starts during the spring and it has a mysterious and dangerous summer vibe to it. If you like magic that is hidden within our own world and teenagers not just getting involved in it, but wanting to get involved, I would recommend this book. It's about Blue Sargent, a girl from a family of psychics, who herself doesn't have any magical abilities, and four boys from a private school on a quest to find a sleeping king.

Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan

This is a series of five books, written for a middle school audience. The first book is called Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

Percy Jackson is a very popular book series, so you might be tired of hearing it be recommended all the time, but if you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend you do! Especially if you're in middle school, though older audiences can also enjoy it. Percy Jackson is a book about Greek Mythology and Gods and monsters and demigods.

Contemporary

Again, but better by Christine Riccio

This is a romcom about a girl studying abroad in London. It's a really fun and cute book! I think it's perfect for summer because it contains a lot of traveling, and is an overall happy and adorable book. If you like books that make you laugh, I would recommend this to you!

Classics

Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery

I read this book years ago, and really loved it. It's about an orphan girl getting sent to a family who were expecting to receive a boy. From what I remember it contains a lot of beautiful nature descriptions of every season, but especially summer. Anne Shirley is likable and eccentric, and it's fun to follow her story.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

This book is about four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy and we get to follow them through their lives. The sisters all have different personalities and you'll fall in love with at least one of them. They are all so fun to read about and their family is so beautiful and charming.
