There is a stellar quote by Stephen King that says, books are uniquely portable magic. I couldn't agree more with this quote. There is a sort of transformation that happens when one is immersed in a book. It's magic.

Hopefully, you don't think I'm crazy and understand what I'm saying.

Hopefully.

Well, today, I'm going to give some book recommendations. These are books that transported me from reality to a whole new world. This might get you out of a reading rut or give you some new books to add to your TBR.

My Top 5 Books to Suspend Reality

Children of Blood and Bone: This just might be my favourite book. This is a book by a Nigerian author, Tomi Adeyemi, which follows the story of the heroine, Zélie Adebola, as she attempts to restore magic to the kingdom of Örisha. Trust me, you're going to love it.

The Alchemist: This is a self-help book by Paulo Coelho, written in form of fiction. It is about a shepherd trying to discover himself and how he overcomes the obstacles that come his way. If you need some encouragement or you just want to escape reality, I highly recommend this book.

They Both Die At The End: This is a book by Adam Silvera that will definitely make you cry. In this book, the two main characters, Mateo and Rufus, are called early in the morning by a sort of 'death committee' and are informed that they are going to die that day. No, it's not a scam, yes, it is real, and that's how it is in this book. You are called on the day of your death and told quite blatantly that you're going to die at aome point during those 24 hours. The title might be a spoiler but it also makes you want to read on to see whether they really die at the end. And, um... get some tissues.

The Mistborn trilogy: Brandon Sanderson is hands down the best fantasy writer I've come across. Honestly, I am not exaggerating. Just read this masterpiece and speak for yourself. I'm currently reading it and I love this book a lot. Can you imagine a blood-red moon in a world where it rains ash? Yes, ash. If you love fantasy as much as I do, you are going to adore this book.

Pride and Prejudice: This is a romance novel by Jane Austen about two people from different worlds: Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy. They have to let go of their pride and the prejudice that drives them apart in order to live together happily ever after. I was hooked from the very first sentence.

That's it for now! I hope you got some new books to add to your reading list. And tell me: do you want more book recommendations? Just hit me up on my account- debziequeen Bye!
