I woke up starving. I looked around and I knew I was lying down. I was also moving. I tried to sit up, but I was too weak. Wow, those guys can really hit hard.
I managed to get out the word, "Where?"
"She's awake!" I heard. The voice sounded familiar. Allie! I then was plopped onto the ground. "Ugh." I moaned when I hit the ground.
For a few minutes, I heard scrambling footsteps. I moved my head around. A few seconds later, I saw a figure. I realized that it was dark. "Who?" I said.
"It's me, Allie," she said. "Oh, and Byron and Beatrice and Daniel are here."
My eyes got used to the darkness and I said, "What happened?"
"Well," Allie said. "After you got knocked out, me and Byron and Beatrice and Daniel started to fight the others. I'm pretty sure we killed some and knocked out some others. We were the only ones that had weapons. You've been knocked out for almost 2 days now. Jackson can really hit hard. Ooh, you must be thirsty."
Allie grabbed a dark blue backpack and got out some bottled water. She began to feed it to me like I was a baby. "I can do it myself," I said. She nodded in embarrassment and handed me the water bottle.
"So where are the others?" I asked.
"Their in a tent that we made," she said.
"Can I see them?" I asked. "I really want to talk to Byron and see that he is ok." Allie said yes and helped lift me up. She walked me to the tent.
When I saw Byron, I hugged him really hard. "Oh my god!" I cried. "Are you ok, Byron?"
"I'm fine," he said. I began to cry and he held me close. I wanted to be his girlfriend. So I took a chance.
I went backwards and then went in. Plunging my lips into his. His moist lips were soothing. I caressed his hair. Byron pushed me away.
"Woah!" He said. "What are you doing?"
"I'm kissing you," I responded.
"Well, stop!" Byron said. I was more than shocked. I just didn't get it.
"I don't get it!" I cried. "Why can't you kiss me? I mean our chemistry was kind of obvious."
"What in the hell are you talking about?" He shouted back at me. Allie, Beatrice, and Daniel got up and left, knowing that this is our private conversation.
"I like you Byron," I said. "I mean, I like you like you. I think you're really nice, cute,
hot, and passionate." I regretted it the moment I said it. I didn't want him to know that I liked him.
Byron shook his head in disgust and got up and left. He left me in the tent alone. I began to cry. I shook really hard and monster-size tears streamed down my face. This was all just to much for me. I wiped away the tears, but more just kept coming. Why doesn't he like me back?
Allie came in and took me outside of the tent. "Do you want to go on a walk with me?" Allie asked. I nodded.
The freezing cold air made by nose turn pink. I felt if I cried again, my tears would turn into ice. So I tried not to.
"What's going on?" She asked.
I didn't know if I should say it or not. "A lot of stuff is going on," I said. "The kingdom is chasing after me and I'm really nervous..."
"Um..." I debated about telling her about the thing about Byron and I not being together.
"C'mon," Allie said. "You can tell me anything." I decided to tell her.
"You know how me and Byron were fighting in the tent about me trying to kiss him?" I asked her. Allie nodded.
"Well...." I said. "I have like a big crush on Byron and I wanted to kiss him. Every time something is romantic and we, or at least I know that a kiss would fit perfectly into the situation, he just doesn't do it. And I know there is something, something keeping us apart."
Allie patted my back in sympathy. "I'll talk to him," she said. We turned back and I followed behind her.
