I woke up, my head throbbing. I slowly opened my eyes hoping that people would be hovering over me, waiting for me to wake up. But, no one was there.
I looked around, but saw nothing but darkness. I silver tear slivered down my soft cheeks. I began to stand up, but I fell down. Something hurt. It was my leg. I touched it all over. I could feel deep cuts and burns and wet stuff that I knew was blood. My whole leg was covered in blood.
I could hear footsteps walking over to me. "Who's there?" I mumbled.
"It's me, Destiny," the voice said.
"Who?" I cried.
"Chris."
This couldn't be happening. How did he find me? Is he even on my side? Why would he be after I left him. I wish I could just go back to my jail cell where I never met Byron or Beatrice or anyone else.
"You left me," Chris snapped. "You left me, Destiny and without telling me."
"I'm so sorry, Chris," I said.
"Sorry doesn't cut it," he said and I felt a cold smack on my back which I could tell was a whip. "Let's go."
"No, no, no!" I cried as Chris dragged me along the cold, hard ground. I burst out in tears when the whip hit my back once more. I cried out in pain. I was never whipped before and I was never in so much pain as I am now. Physically and emotionally. I wish I just died right then. They were probably gonna kill me later.
I was tied up and thrown into a cramped space. I tried to get out but I couldn't. I began to get tired and then fell asleep.
I was awaken by yelling in my face. I opened my eyes and saw a guard of the kingdom. "You're coming with me," he growled.
"Please, just let me go!" I cried. "I didn't do anything wrong!" Another sting rushed through my body as the whip hit me. This time, it was much harder. I decided to keep my mouth shut.
The hunky guard put me on his back and took me inside a dark building. Tears streamed down my face. The tears ran into my mouth. They were very salty. I wanted to cry out, but I would just be whipped again. I had absolutely no idea why I would be a threat to the royals' big plan, but if they let me go and did whatever they were doing, I wouldn't stop them. Because whatever it is is better than dying.
The guard placed, more like tossed me, into a metal chair. He strapped me in with leather straps that I felt were cutting of my circulatory system. It hurt like hell. He tied my mouth with a leather gag. I could barely breathe and I began to choke. The guard left the room.
I heard faint screams from far away. I heard footsteps running to wherever I was. I was hoping it wasn't the person who was going to kill me.
The door swung opened. I tried to look around but I couldn't. The straps were holding me in.
The next thing I knew I saw Byron running up to me, kissing my cheek. "Are you okay," he said with tears in my eyes. I nodded, but really I wasn't okay. My mouth was extremely sore and my body felt like it was burned and whipped my metal.
Byron began to untie me. He took the gag out of my mouth. He got me up and I gave him a hug. I looked down and saw that his leg was cut badly. Blood was flowing out.
"What happened?" I asked, the loudest I could be which was more like a whimper. I pointed to the cut.
"My leg was sliced by a sword," Byron admitted. "But I'm okay, I'm serious. We have to go."
I nodded and we ran to the doorway when their was a loud bang. Footsteps ran away and Byron fell to the ground. The bullet hit his heart. "Oh no," I whimpered. I could tell he was going to die. I rubbed his chest.
I give Byron a kiss on the cheek. A few seconds later, his heart stops beating. Byron was dead.
