sat at the dinner table, eating ravioli around six pm, siwoo is chatting away and talking to juwon about his football game. except they call it soccer here.

"well harry slide tackled me and dropped me up so he was out with a red card from the beginning." juwon's saying.

"and he didn't have a sub?" she asks him.

"no, so no one was marking me for the rest of the game."

that would be how he managed to score two goals in the last ten minutes.

"excellent. well let's hope he does that every week." she says jokingly. "how's your ravioli?" she looks to me across the table.

"it's great." i smile at her.

"good." she smiles back. "don't worry if you can't eat it all, these two boys have the appetite of a pig so i'm sure they'd be happy to finish it off." she says.

i look over at yeonjun. he hasn't actually eaten that much of his food. he's just staring at it, miserably. i glance across the table to sehun who's watching him in silence. there's still tension between them. i wonder if anyone else had noticed.

"we got ice cream and pudding." jihye speaks up from next to me.

"there's pudding?" juwon asks.

"yeah, first proper meal chaewon's had with us that wasn't just pizza, jet lag and a missing member." she glances at yeonjun. "thought we should have a little treat."

i smile as jihye asks, "can i have cookie dough?"

"well let's see if you can finish your dinner first." siwoo says.

sehun stops looking at yeonjun and turns to me. "do you work, chaewon?" he asks out of nowhere.

"yeah, uh, i work as a gymnastics coach." i respond.

"wow, really?" siwoo says.

"impressive. she's smart and sporty." sehun says in approval, looking at yeonjun with a darkness in his eyes.

i smile shyly, too modest to respond properly.

"how long have you been doing that then?" siwoo asks.

"i started when i was fourteen." i say. "but that was just simple stuff like training beginners and primary school kids back then." i say.

"primary school?" juwon asks.

oh right. they call it something different here. "oh, so like four to eleven year olds." i explain.

"ah, cool." siwoo says. "and what age do you train now?" she asks.

"well i train the advanced kids now so they can be any age."

"can you do flips and stuff?" juwon asks me.

"yeah, i can." i smile.

"can you do that thing when people run and do loads of insane tricks in a line?" he asks.

"tumbling?" i say with a little laugh. "yeah."

"wow, you'll have to show us." siwoo says.

"can you teach me?" juwon lights up.

"you'll have to pay me." i say playfully, and the table laughs. except for yeonjun who's still staring at his food, zoned out from the rest of the room.

"little jihye here wants to be a gymnast, don't you?" sehun says to her.

she nods her head so vigorously i fear for her brain cells. "and an astronaut. and a car fixer." she says.
