A Good Beginning

I hated saying goodbye to Collin, but I had to get back to Seattle and he had family obligations he needed to take care of. One was disengaging himself from the agreement his father and grandfather got him involved in without asking him if he was going to do it. Ben and David weren't happy at all to see me in Collin's home. Apparently they have an arrangement with a company who has a daughter they have intentions of being Collin's wife. A wife who has no other ambitions than to marry a wealthy man and have children and raise them accordingly. They voiced their discontent about me being here in New York. We have embarrassed them by going out to dinner and being too friendly. The kissing was the final straw for them and they came to make sure I was leaving for good and not seeing Collin again.
David
I won't have him marry someone like you, we have already set up a union between him and a company we want to merge with. So you are screwing up everything we planned.
Mia
Hmmm I am betting Collin has no idea you are here and trying to stop me from seeing him again.
Ben
He has no idea nor shall he have any idea, you are going to leave him alone. We will assure that you do.
Collin
I should have known you two would try something like this, I brought Allison with me, she has told her father point blank she is not marrying anyone at all. And especially not someone she hates, like me, she will not be used to merge companies and or families of any kind.
Allison
You two are out of your minds if you think I will be one of those stay at home child bearing wives and allow you to get your greedy hands on my inheritance because silly woman that I am can't handle any more than being home and keeping a home and children alive and everything running smoothly while Collin is out running our companies. Dad just got his answer and now just in case you don't know this I am not interested in marry any man. I have a girlfriend tyvm. So stop with the trying to force Collin and I into anything. Ben you are still trying to get through the after effects of your divorce and your ex wife is thriving now. I recommend you mind your own business and stop trying to get other peoples companies from them. Dad wants to have a few words with you two by the way. My mom does as well. They are waiting for your calls.

David
I am going with you. I walk out and I ask what did she mean about trying to get their company?
Ben
It has been in the works a while and I thought we could see about getting Collin to marry her and then have him run their company. I guess he is not going to be getting married right away.
Collin
Mia sorry about those two. They really have no choice in any of this anymore. She looks at me and asks me to explain things.
Mia
I listen to Collin and then Allison and at first I thought he had me come visit him here just to get a point across to his father and grandfather. But he actually wanted me to see what I might be in for battle wise if I decided to marry him or someone with family like his. His mother has some very strong ideas on the subject and decided to go run her own company rather than be Nancy homemaker. She has started building her company up and ended the male dominance in the management. She hired sone very incredible people to replace the bullies. She truly is an EOE(Equal Opportunity Employer) she has everyone transcripts from all upper level courses and technical schools they attended. A degree is not enough to be hired by her company. A degree with the best grades comes first. It puts them at the top of the hiring lists. I got a lot out of talking to his mother. I might have thought he just wanted to separate me from my family, but I see he was trying to open my eyes to the fact I need to have something that I had no help obtaining. That is owning a restaurant, catering business and culinary school. I might need investors, but no hands on. Silent ones. Collin offers to drive me to the airport.
Collin
I kiss her goodbye and tell her to keep in touch with me. I plan on coming out on the holidays if you want me there.
Mia
We will see about that. I had an interesting visit. You opened my eyes a lot and good luck with your family issues. He smiles and pulls me into a hug and kisses me a long time and says I want to court you when you are ready to be courted correctly.
Collin
I want a wife and children one day, but one with ambitions of her own. I hope that will be you, but one step at a time. I want us to both have our family support on both sides right now with mine it would be like jumping hurdles with a broken leg and arm. I am going to change that and have taken the first steps to that goal. I might have used you to break up the agreement, and I am sorry about it being sprung on you and hope you forgive me for that please.

Give me a heads up next time will you, they nearly had me crying and my makeup would have ran all over my face.
Collin
You look good with or without it, but don't let my family cause you tears because they are not worth it at all.
