A few days later...

"Yeah, so right now we are waiting for our relatives  to arrive before we pull the plug" I text Alan.

<Are you doing okay? You are really close to your dad–>

"I'm fine Alan, don't worry" I reassure him.

The past few months have been tough, the past few days even tougher but I have had the best support with me through these times...my friends, family and...him.

My eyes trail towards the man in a stunning black suit sitting at the head of the table as the section heads present the data analysis for the month.

His eyes suddenly turn towards me and I panic, flustered to have been caught staring by him but he winks at me and gives my thigh a reassuring squeeze under the table.

A small smile plays upon my lips and I hide my face, looking down at the papers.

Coming to think of it, ever since the mental breakdown I had a few days ago, Sky hasn't left my side even once. He stayed by my side for whole two days, placing wet cloth strips on my forehead to bring down my fever, making sure I eat, nursing me back to health and being there like an iron pillar to give me emotional support.

I was scared earlier, I wanted to run away, I hated my reality.

But now, with him by my side, I can do it!

Sky's pov

Even though I know Ray overthinks a lot, but the way he is creepily zoned out in middle of a meeting with Austin shooting daggers at him is making me anxious....

AND WHY WAS HE STARING AT ME EARLIERRRR!?

"I am so sorry Mr. Holler!" I apologize for the fourth time, bowing a little and Austin sighs.

"You had one job Ray! One job! You just had to take the highlights from finances but you zoned out!" he scolds and I hang my head in embarrassment.

Note to self: Staring at the most beautiful man in the room will land you in trouble :)

"I know you have a lot of things on you platter right now Ray, and even though I can give you a leave, I am making you work extra hard so you don't have time for being upset. Try to understand this!" he says, his voice softening and I nod.

"And by the way, have you seen Sky? He has been missing since the meeting ended an hour ago...we need to go to the sub branch in half an hour"

"I'll go out and check once" I say, walking out of the doors, leaving Austin alone in the room.

I walk out of Highland and start walking towards the Starbuck across the street.

If Sky wasn't in the office, then he was either plotting for a murder or having coffee.

God he is addicted to that bitter stuff!

I take out my phone and text Sky again, for the 39th time after the meeting today, but once again no reply.

I turn into a small street and call him.
