"Darling Y/N" - [Affogato x Reader]

Chapter I - Beginning

[𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐲 , 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 . 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐭𝐦 , 𝐛𝐮𝐭 , 𝐠𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 - 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 . 𝐀𝐥𝐬𝐨 , 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞]

It was a lovely morning - nothing could ruin the vibe . The grass was greener than ever . The trees thrived in the enviroment . Nothing but roses streching for miles . Well , that was just a dream . You woke up to harsh howling in the Dark Cacao kingdom ; all that streched for miles was the endless white snow . "Oh right- ugh time to get up"I moaned , yawning because of the lack of sleep I got . Wearily , I managed to almost get out of bed when I hit my head on a wall: "Guess that's karma"I thought to myself , rubbing my head . Normally , it would be silent on the streets . Nothing ever important occured nowadays . However , I could hear people cheering outside my window . I peered out , trying to figure what the hell was going on .

"Aww~ Thank you for your kindness"I could hear someone say . It seemed to be coming from a brown-haired male with white streaks near the ends , wearing a purple robe and black fur . "Mm..who is he again- He seems kind of familliar"I tried to figure out , but my mind kept going blank with every thought ."As your new king , I promise that there will be no more attacks on the kingdom , and that we will never run out of our required supplies - This kingdom will thrive furthur than anyone has ever done!" Typical - always making ambitious dreams then they all collapse and never work out . 

I decided to go out and watch this for myself . I put on my black leather jacket and headed outside . The crowd was huge . I guess everyone went to celebrate the new king . Whilst watching him about to head inside the Citadel Castle , he somehow made eye contact with me , and didn't break it . His eyes seemed to be locked into mine . It felt quite embarrassing , because everyone else was watching him watch me . I took a deep breath and prayed that when I opened my eyes , he would stop looking at me . Instead , the crowd had dissapeared . God knows how long I was there for . But , he was still there , infront of me .

"Uhh...are you okay?"he asked , waving his hand infront of my face . I instantly snapped out of it and looked away blushing . He looked handsome up close . A faint smile appeared on his face . "Oh uh- I'll go now"I said , about to turn away when he grabbed my wrist . "Hm?" . He just shook his head and let go , and rushed inside . I swear someone was watching me - the gates were left a crack open . I sighed and walked to my house . 

"Are you telling me that you are falling for the new king?"my friend , Hazel , asked me . "No- not that way- It's just - I"I could barely speak words I was that flustered . As if I'd fall for him . "𝑶𝒐𝒐𝒉 someone's inlove~"she teased , patting my head , "You know- I'm not gonna tell anyone if you confess the truth" . I just ignored her - I did it multiple times and she never told anyone . Or maybe...she was right . And that I already gained feelings just because I made eye-contact with someone for a few seconds .Sounds daft , I know.

Later that night , I heard some knocking at the door . "Who on 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒉 would be knocking my knocking my door at midnight"I wondered , and went downstairs to answer it . "Hello , Y/N , we have came to inform you that King Affogato is hosting a party , if you like to come" . I politely took the letter and said 'Thanks' . I jumped onto my bed and read the note : "𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒀/𝑵 , 𝑰 𝒂𝒎 𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒕 9𝒑𝒎 , 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈" . 'Yeah- this note was just printed and someone told him everyone's name'I thought , then glanced at the bottom .

What the hell?! I doubt that he actually put that on everyone's letter . I sighed and checked the time on the letter : '25th 𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒕 9𝒑𝒎' . Ahh right . Today was the 24th , so I had time to prepare .

"Are you telling me that you got a letter from the sexy king himself?!"Hazel asked shocked . "Woah woah - Hold up- so you like 𝒉𝒊𝒎 now?!"I asked , ignoring the question . Rather than answering it , I shoved the letter in her face so she could look for herself . She seemed pretty jealous to be honest . "Luckyy"she moaned , face-planting into her arms . "Don"t worry , I'll tell you 𝒂𝒍𝒍 the tea when I get back~"I mentioned , her eyes sparkled with joy . Yeah- Hazel absoloutely loved drama . For the party , It said pretty much : "Semi-formal" attire , so I put on a [F/C] dress / [F/C] long-sleeved shirt with a tie and some black trousers . I sighed nervously , and headed outside . The streets were full of cheers and loud noises . I followed the crowd inside , but stopped at the fountain . Minutes had passed ,and it seemed like he had forgotten , so I just went inside . It took a while for my eyes to adjust with the radiating yellow lights everywhere blinding me . Eventually , I caught sight of the King , next to a few of his "friends" , holding a glass of wine . Pretty much , he spotted me within a second . "𝑨𝒉𝒉 Y/N! Glad you could make it" . Honestly , I don't know how he knows my name , but I just awkwardly smiled whilst everyone just watched me , some with death stares .

He gestured his hand out for me to take , and I hestitantly took it . I mean- I did feel kind of embarrassed . Maybe actually nervous instead . His hands felt soft , probably because he was wearing leather gloves . He took me to the fountain he asked to meet at . I think he forgot he was holding my hand , and he seemed to have a firm grip onto me . "I- uh..." . "Oh right sorry"he interrupted and let go , as if he just read my mind . Things started to go awkwardly quiet after that.

"My apologies , but- what..was your..name again?"I slowly asked , fiddling with my fingers behind my back . "Affogato"he smiled , and took another sip from the glass . Affogato walked up a bit closer to me and brushed a hair out of my face . "You are a cutie , ya know?"he smirked , wrapped an arm around my waist . Let me guess- he probably became a bit drunk- . I would've had a bit but I didn't want to seem drowsy infront of the king . God knows what would happen . I tried to move back , but he grasped tighter on my waist . He carefully placed the glass on the side of the fountain and used to other hand to hold the back of my head . I knew exactly what was about to happen-

Affogato leant closer , giving a small wink . His vanilla scent filled my senses , aswell as a tint of coffee . "Why so shy? I don't bite~"he suspicously commented , pulling me even closer to him . Then , just as I expected , he kissed me . He held the same postition for quite a while , then pulled away for a quick breath . Then , he went back to it , but more passionately this time . At that second , I felt his hand kind of stroke the back of my scalp , making me flinch ever so slightly. It definitely felt weird , but , some part felt different . Affogato was about to go a bit furthur when a watcher came outside . "Sir , there are so-"she paused at the sight of us . "Not now , give me about 2 hours to finish up what I've started . "There are some people here to offer you a deal" .

"Ugh fine give me a moment!"he shouted back , then turned back to me , "Sorry Darling , That was just one of my servants" . He completely changed his mood within a matter of seconds . He moved away and carefully put me back to my original posture . "I'll be back in a second~!" I perched on the edge of the fountain , trying to think what just happened . "First of all- I make eye-contact with the King , then I get invited to a ball by him . And then..I literally get taken to a place outside where he literally kisses me- What could happen next..."
