Road To Redemption

First Class

Y/N POV

The sun rises bringing light to my room. I grunt as hard as I can. My muscles ache as I feel my grip slipping. I hold on as long as as can but the screwdriver ultimately snaps embedding in my neck. I yank it out as a voice is heard.

Ozpin: "Nice try but you cannot remove this collar. The only way it comes off is when I take it off."

Y/N: "You find this funny don't you?"

There's nothing but silence. 

Y/N: "Just a recording. Fucking prick."

Speaker: "First class has now begun."

I leisurely walk reaching my first class.

Port: "And why is you're late?"

Y/N: "Tried to kill myself. But it failed as you can see."

Port: "Just take your seat."

I do. But that's when Ruby leans close to me.

Ruby: "Good morning."

Y/N: "I can tell you it's not."

Ruby: "Yikes, grumpy much?"

Y/N: "You ever not cheery?"

Yang: "What's your problem?"

Y/N: "Christ this place is filled with quizzical people. If this keeps up I just might rat out Roman."

Port: "This world is full of dangerous creatures ready to tear you apart. But have no fear for that's where we Huntsmen and Huntresses come in."

He winks at someone.

Port: "These're people who've sworn their lives to protecting those that call this world home. That's what you're training to become. But before we get to how to do that I'd like-"

I slam my head onto the desk quickly growing bored. God let this class end soon.

Port: "Now who among you believe themselves to embody these traits?"

Weiss: "Me sir!"

Port: "Then come down and prove it."

She walks down readying her rapier.

Ruby: "Represent team RWBY!"

Weiss: "Hush, I'm trying to concentrate."

Port: "Let this match, begin!"

A Borbatusk charges at Weiss. She spins to dodge it but the tip of its tusk grazes her.

Port: "That's a hit."

Her and the Borbatusk run at each other. Upon colliding they get Weiss' rapier stuck in the tusks.

Ruby: "You got this Weiss."

She shoots her a glare allowing the Borbatusk to yank and toss the rapier away. It then slams headfirst into her chest sending her sliding across the floor. It kicks up the ground and runs at her. She rolls out of the way rearming herself.

Ruby: "It's belly! There's no-"

Weiss: "Stop bossing me around!!!"

The Borbatusk rolls to her as a ball. She makes a glyph that the Borbatusk crashes into. It lands on its back as Weiss jumps off another glyph. She skewers the Borbatusk's belly with her rapier killing it.

Port: "That was a unique display. But that's the time we have for today. Go over the readings for tonight and always be alert."

The bell rings dismissing us. I see Ruby and Weiss share a gaze. Weiss hmphs and walks out of the classroom. I march after her confronting her on the roof.

Weiss: "What do you want?"

I walk to her.

Weiss: "What're you doing?"

I push her to the railing. She screams going over. But I grab her foot keeping her from going splat. She looks at me pushing her skirt down.

Weiss: "Are you insane!?!"

Y/N: "Listen and listen well ice bitch."

Weiss: "That's-"

Y/N: "Shut up. I'm a killer. I've killed people for pretty petty reasons. Whether it be for coin or pure spite. Now imagine how easy it'd be for me to kill a snotty self entitled princess. It'd be as simple as taking a piss. Lucky for you I'm on a tight leash. Meaning I can't physical hurt you without getting into a shit load of trouble. So do me a favor and fix that rotten attitude of yours before I say fuck it and welcome that trouble. Got me?"

The color leaves her entire being.

Y/N: "I'm not hearing an answer."

Weiss "I-I-I g-got y-y-you."

I yank her back onto the roof. She speed walks away. I look over the railing at the ground.

Y/N: "She'd had survived the drop."
