Road To Redemption

The Nuckelavee

3rd POV

Y/N falls face first towards the ground. Ruby and Jaune however catch him.

Jaune: "What's wrong with him?"

Ruby: "I don't know."

She looks him over until she sees his chest which's pouring blood.

Ruby: "We need to get him patched up."

They set to work tying off his wounds. Then with Ren's help he and Jaune carrying him down the road.

Ruby: "How much further?"

Nora: *lowers map* "The nearest town is another day or two away."

Jaune: "He won't make it."

Ruby: "We've gotta find somewhere closer."

Nora suddenly runs to a sign.

Ruby: "What is it?"

Nora: "Good news is that there's a closer town."

Ruby: "But..."

Nora: "But that town was ravaged by a Grimm invasion."

Jaune: "Meaning we might not find any useful supplies."

Ruby: "But we might."

Ren: "That's a strong might."

Ruby "But it's better than nothing."

After some debate they head for the town. They search when they're forced to regroup by the ground rumbling. They turn their gaze seeing a regular Nuckelavee making its way to them.

Jaune: "Oh crap."

Nora: "What do we do?"

Ruby: "We kill it."

They withdraw their weapons running at the Nuckelavee.

Y/N POV

I faintly open my eyes. Doing so I see the others fighting a Nuckelavee. I get up to help only to fall face first on the ground. 

Y/N: "Come on body. We've gotta get up."

I move my arm. But it just shakes offering me next to no control. I plant my palm on the ground.

Y/N: "That's it."

I repeat the process with my other hand. I slowly pick myself up.

 Y/N: "Almost there."

I keep going. But my arms give out making me face plant.

Y/N: "Damnit body work with me." 

I hear a scream. Looking up I see Ruby on the ground about to get trampled by the Nuckelavee.

Y/N: "Move damnit!!!"

I push past my limits forcing my body to stand. Now up I wobbly run to save Ruby. I get to her wrapping my arms around her. We both burst into smoke appearing next to the others.

Y/N: "You kids stay here. I'll deal with the Nuckelavee."

Ruby: "No way. You're in no shape to-"

Y/N: "Don't worry kid, I'll be alright."

I switch semblances. Strength courses through my body dulling out the pain my body's in. This is gonna hurt really badly. I run towards the Nuckelavee as it does the same. I slam my head onto into the horse's head letting out a crunch. 

The horse groans in pain while wobbling dizzily. I shake my head becoming more alert. I then tackle the Nuckelavee onto its side. I grab its ribs eliciting a sharp yelp of pain. With all the strength I can muster I lift the Nuckelavee up.

My muscles ache as my bones emit a long creak. Pushing past it all I pick the Nuckelavee up raising it above my head. Its weight shifts making me replant my feet. Now fixed I begin spinning around. Through several spins I toss the Nuckelavee into the air.

It whinnies as it comes back down. I slightly crouch clenching my fists. I then leap high into the air. The distance between me and the Nuckelavee quickly closes until I ultimately reach it. I plow straight through its side.

I keep going eventually making a hole through the entire thing. Its blood and organs coat me when I fall towards the ground. I close my eyes feeling fatigue set in. The last thing I hear is the others calling my name.
